How many houses have you lived in?

I just added up the places I’ve live in, places where I have paid rent to abide. And in my 64 years, it turns out I have lived in 35 houses/apartments. Some for many years, others for just a few months at a time.

How about you?

I’m at about 15, with a couple more on the way. I’m way younger than you.

9, counting the rooms in which I lived when at university. I’m 62.

I’ve lived in 14 different places.
I’m 59.

I moved about once a year until I was 5, then lived from 5 to 18 in one house. After that I moved around again about once a year, then for the past 26 years I have lived in the house I currently own.

I paid rent for 6 of those, and a mortgage for 1.

28, counting various barracks when I was in the Navy, plus 2 sail boats where we lived between houses. Excluding barracks, it’s 20. Three were childhood homes, the rest since I was 19. I’m 71.

At 68 years of age, I have lived in 13 places, counting college dormitories and a couple of apartments or rented rooms that were temporary, but still lasting a few weeks.

14 different addresses in 55 years.

  • 6 during childhood, through high school graduation.

  • 4 during my college period, the last of which I stayed in for a couple years after graduation.

  • 2 during adulthood after that (this was an exceptionally stable period).

  • And 2 after the relocation to Europe. (I’m not counting the corporate-housing flat which was our temporary transitional space for a month after we landed.)

I’m 54.

2 during childhood
2 during university
4 post-university - my wife lived with me at all of these, my older daughter at the last two, my younger just the last one. The current house is my longest continuous stay, coming up to 18 years.

So 8 total.

I’m similar to many here. I’m 55 and living in my 13th house. Lived for nine years of my school age years in one, and have been in the current house for 23 years.

Age: 63
Residences: At least 35

I count 25 actual homes total.

If I can include 6 extended hotel stays of over a month or longer it would be 31. Four of them were very nice hotels provided by my work overseas, two were outright dumps. I’ll never forget the Pitt Hotel outside of Pittsburgh, it really was a pit.

12 at 61.

At 63 I’ve lived in 29 places, 31 if you count 2 different dorm rooms.

6 houses, 1 apartment.

I’ve been in my current house, the only house I bought, for 32 years. But we are moving in a year or two. It’s gonna be hard on me.

9 at 63.

I’m going to say 14-15, the uncertainty mostly coming down when I was a baby/toddler and my renter parents were moving frequently for one reason or another.

My best guess is:

  • 4-5 through kindergarten
  • 5 through high school
  • 5 as a legal adult (including college)

All rentals except for two.

Somewhere between 20-25 (it would take a while to find / remember all the places I lived while in college).

I’m only 45 years old so I’m up there in terms of jumps.

  1. I’m in my mid-fifties.

Looks like I am the fewest so far. 66 years old, 4 residences:

House #1: 23 years
House #2: 5 years
House #3: 7 years
House #4: 31 years and counting.

mmm

I’m in that ballpark too, let me see:

House #1: From 0 to 7 years old
House #2: 8-8 years old
House #3: 8-11 years old
House #2 again: 11-21 years old
House #4: 21-22 years old
House #2: again again: 22-23 years old
House #5: 23-39 years old
House #6: 39-46 years old
House #7: just moved last november.

We left house #2 to my uncle while my father took a job in another province, got back, then I moved to live alone but had to return because the friend that shared his house with me got a girlfriend hehehe, then took of for good to house #5 (which was my grandparents’ old apartment), then rented #6 and I’ve finally bought #7, I hope to stay here for decades if not to the end, depending on fate and global warming (house is 2.1 kms from the coast at an elevation of 5 meters, it should be enough for the foreseable future right? RIGHT?)
