How many discount plastic thingies are on your keyring? Which ones?

You know what I’m talking about–the little plastic slips that give you discounts throughout the store. They are taking over keyrings I tells you.

I currently have ShopRite, Pathmart, A&P, Food Emporium, Duane Reed & Borders books. What you got?

Three.

We have an Acme, a Shop-Rite and a Super Fresh within a mile radius. Each week we receive a circular for each of them, and whoever has Pepsi One on sale is the one who gets my business that week.

I have DSW, Borders, Ralphs, Office Depot, Staples and CVS. I also have a VISA credit card plastic thingy clipped on too. But it doesn’t offer a discount.

Currently none. If they have them in Germany I haven’t figured out how to get them. At home I have very decrepit Ralphs card on my keys.

Four: Ralph’s, Albertson’s (obviously I have no store loyalty), Border’s “Rewards” (which by the way is a total crock. If you don’t spend at least $150 in a calendar year your “rewards” are erased. I should ditch this one), and L.A. Public Library.

Just one, from Ralphs. Though it has completely fallen apart so I use the credit card sized one these days.

The only plastic thingie I keep on my actual keychain is the one for my gym, but I have a separate little keychain with cards from Ace Hardware, Office Depot, Borders, Albertsons (got two of these, actually), and PetSmart.

Two. **CVS ** and Albertsons.
I work at Borders, so I have the Rewards sticker on the back of my credit card. I see keyrings with so many cards attached I wonder how they find their keys. People in general have way too much stuff on their keyring. Dangly, pretty things, discount cards, lip glosses, fuzzy bears, twenty keys, nail clippers, a mirror…it’s insane. Some weigh over 2 pounds, I know it.

The best idea I’ve seen is a separate key ring with just the cards on it. You whip it out when you need it, and your keyring can safely hold…keys.

None. I do have the odd discount card (all for Canadian stores, so they do me no use here) but none on my keychain.

Foodtown, Wegmans, ShopRite, Deans, Borders, a Bank of America credit card thing, gym that I don’t go to, and a speedpass that doesn’t work anymore

Blockbuster, Albertson’s, Borders, Ralph’s, Los Angeles Public Library.

No discounts, just my library card mini.

Zero. I keep any discount cards in my wallet.

None, since most of them are linked to your telephone number, I just input that into the little keypad instead and don’t junk up my keyring.

None. Not only do I not use discount programs, places that have them make me actively not want to shop there. I’ve probably spent a lot less money at the Albertson’s a block from me than I have at Publix and Wal*Mart which are considerably farther.

But nowadays Publix is having more “SPECIAL 4.99 with coupon” deals, which is as bad or worse…

Giant Eagle, for the Fuelperks, and Borders Rewards. I don’t really shop at Borders often enough to accumulate anything either, but I was working at Waldenbooks when the program started so I still have it out of habit. The Fuelperks are great though - last night’s shopping put me up to $0.90 off per gallon!

Let me see…Albertson’s, Kroger, Books-A-Million, Food Lion (ha! I got it in Virginia. I wonder how far away the nearest Food Lion is from here?), CVS.

Blockbuster, Kroger, Food Lion and Harris Teeter.

BestBuy and PetCo.

None. I stay away from stores that play that game.
