How many dopers' home towns have you visited?

I have way too much free time on my hands. I visited the USA map and the World map of doper locations and calculated the number of towns and cities there that I have actually visited. There were 38 towns and cities I have visited. I counted a place only if I’ve been within the city or town limits. In some cases, it was hard to tell if I met that qualification. For example, I guessed that I was inside Hudson WI when I passed through on I-94 and I guessed that I wasn’t inside Atlanta when I was at the airport there.
[li]Los Angeles, ca[/li][li]San Diego, CA[/li][li]Challis, ID[/li][li]Laramie, WY[/li][li]Sioux Falls, SD[/li][li]St. Cloud, MN[/li][li]St. Paul, MN[/li][li]Minneapolis, MN[/li][li]Hudson, WI[/li][li]Ashland, WI[/li][li]Milwaukee, WI[/li][li]Marquette, MI[/li][li]Flint, MI[/li][li]Ann Arbor, MI[/li][li]Davenport, IA[/li][li]Chicago, IL[/li][li]Indianapolis, IN[/li][li]Columbus, OH[/li][li]Lakeland, FL[/li][li]Tampa, FL[/li][li]Coral Springs, FL[/li][li]Rockville, MD[/li][li]Baltimore, MD[/li][li]Columbia, MD[/li][li]Philadelphia, PA[/li][li]Mechanicsburg, PA[/li][li]Canandaigua, NY[/li][li]Albany, NY[/li][li]Saratoga Springs, NY[/li][li]New Brunswick, NJ[/li][li]New York, NY[/li][li]Providence, RI[/li][li]Fall river, MA[/li][li]Wellesley, MA[/li][li]Boston, MA[/li][li]Sanford, ME (of course)[/li][li]Toronto, ON[/li][li]Niagara Falls, ON[/li]
I believe the Atlanta airport is, in fact, within the city limits. It is certainly considered part of metro Atlanta, so you can easily say you’ve been here.

I have been to:

1. Boston, MA
2. Wellesley, MA
3. Providence, RI
4. Albany, NY
5. New York City, NY
6. Pittsburgh, PA
7. Columbia, MD
8. Baltimore, MD
9. Laurel, MD
10)Washington, DC
11)Johnson City, TN
12)Columbia, SC
13)Anderson, SC
14)Augusta, GA
15)Atlanta, GA
16)Jacksonville, FL
17)Tampa, FL
18)Miami, FL
19)Nashville, TN
20)Jackson, MS
21)Baton Rouge, LA
22)Louisville, KY
23)Cincinnati, OH
24)Columbus, OH
25)Cleveland, OH
26)Kettering, OH
27)Indianapolis, IN

I’d have thought there were more. As you can see, my travels have been primarily in the Eastern half of the country. I didn’t pull up the foreign map yet, because my connection is running slow. sigh

And, I believe I’ve driven through Sanford, but I can’t say for sure, so I didn’t include it in my listing. I did do a lot of traveling around Maine during my college years.

I’ve got a very short list here…

1. Honolulu, Hawaii (Although I know I’m not the only Hawaii doper, I’ve still got the whole state to myself! :D)
2. Las Vegas, Nevada
3. Los Angeles, California

Let’s see…
[li]Chicago, IL[/li][li]Springfield, IL[/li][li]Milwaukee, WI[/li][li]Madison, WI[/li][li]La Crosse, WI[/li][li]Stevens Point, WI[/li][li]Hudson, WI[/li][li]St. Paul, MN (lived there for about 4 years)[/li][li]Minneapolis, MN[/li][li]Nashville, TN[/li][li]Omaha, NE[/li][li]Denver, CO[/li][li]Sioux Falls, SD[/li]
I think that’s it.

28, I think.

US: Baltimore, MD; Laurel, MD; Boston; NYC; Providence, RI; Fall River, MA; Chapel Hill (duh), Raleigh, Durham, and Cary, NC; San Francisco; Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA; Chicago; Rehoboth Beach, DE; Rockville, MD; Vienna, VA; Washington, DC; Richmond, VA; Harrisburg, PA; Sanibel and Tampa, FL.

International: Dublin, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Salzburg, Belfast.

Are we counting by smileys, or by the actual town listed? I counted by the latter, because

[ul]

• some of the towns grouped together are really quite different places, eg North Hollywood and Pasadena
• some of the towns grouped together are really nowhere near each other (Manchester is not in the “Leicestershire area”)
• it makes my list longer
[/ul]

Anyway, I come up with:

1. Dublin
2. Belfast
3. Glasgow
4. Leicestershire
5. Manchester
6. London
7. Toronto
8. Montreal
9. Sacramento
10. San Francisco
11. San Leandro
12. Oakland
13. Concord
14. Berkeley
15. San Jose
16. Santa Cruz
17. LA
18. Pasadena
19. North Hollywood
20. San Diego
21. Las Vegas
22. Salt Lake City
23. Albuquerque
24. Omaha
25. Cleveland
26. Atlanta
27. Richmond
28. Rockville
29. Washington
30. Harrisburg
31. Pittsburg
32. Rehoboth Beach
33. Columbia
34. Baltimore
35. Laurel
36. Philadelphia
37. New Brunswick, NJ
38. NYC
39. Albany
40. Saratoga Springs

1. Amsterdam
2. Phoenix
3. Minneapolis
4. Chicago
5. Miami
6. Dallas-FW

I should mention also as a small child I made a couple cross-US trips in a car with my parents, so there could be more that I don’t remember.
