How many Dopers play poker?

Enjoy playing online occassionally, still a novice. First started with Zynga on FB, once I hit $1M on there, I moved on to pokerstars.net, not doing as good there.

Only played live once, at a tourney won in someone’s house*, survived about halfway through, including winning a few all-ins. Would love to play more in real life, there’s a casino not that far from us, if we ever get down there, I should try putting my money where my mouth is.

Maybe one Thursday I’ll check out the Doper game.

*if this is illegal, ignore that part.

I play in the Thursday night game. I have played online for maybe ten years. I have never played a B&M game.

In the good old days, I would buy in to 3 NLHE .01/.02 games at Pokerstars, and play until I had doubled up or more in all of them. Since the UEIGA (sp?), Stars became shark-infested (even at that micro-micro-level), and I lost almost all of my real money bankroll, so the only games I play there now are play money SnG’s. I still have about 1.3M chips, so I’m good for a while.

The Thursday night game most recently was on the MicroGaming network, which had some playable freerolls. They usually had about 3000 entrants, paying the top 260. I cashed quite a few, including a marathon four-hour match for second for $11. When it became impossible to fund that site, we migrated to the self-hosted, play money, Poker Mavens. Some of us still have money at MG, but I haven’t been back to check out the games. I guess I should cash out if I can figure out how.

Serious players are welcome to the Thursday night game to show us how poker *should *be played.

What time BST is the Thursday game played?

10p EDT (GMT-4) so that’s 3a BST?

as i thought, a bit late when i have work the next day!

A vote for “not me”. The only poker I play is a game on my computer with simulated opponents and simulated money. Which is a good thing because I regularly lose hundreds of dollars most times I play.

Is there anything like this that tells you the winning percentage of your possible plays to help improve your game?
