How many email addresses do you have?

Three right now:
One Hotmail for professional stuff, students, professors, union, etc.

One Hotmail for friends and family and some subscriptions

One AOL because I got a year free when I bought this new computer.

I dumped MSN rather than pay every month while getting the aforementioned free AOL.

I used to have firstname, but dumped them when they started charging.

I used to have cwia when they were my provider.

infinity, because I own a domain name

but in terms of accounts, I have:
one paid ISP account
a Hotmail.com (which is TOTALLY USELESS)
a Mail.com one which is quite excellent, and I paid for a forwarding upgrade so it comes to my ISP pop-box
domain name ones, which forward to my ISP one
plus various Yahoo! and Excite and Geocities things which I’ve signed up for over the years, but don’t use. Some are maybe set to forward to me, I don’t know. A couple of years back I went into the Excite one and it had hundreds and hundreds of spams cramming it up. Yet I’d never actively used the account or ever given out the email address.

I have 4 addresses. Two are active school accounts, one is my yahoo address to give to people to keep in touch, because I check it often, and one is an address that I signed up for for laughs once (crackdealer.com). The crackdealer one is used to sign up for stuff. If I know I’ll get spam, I just give a nonexistent e-mail address, because I enjoy the thought of spammers having to deal with all that bounced mail.

I’m on an e-Mail address diet. I’m down to 4: One anonymous, one spam-catcher, one work, and one at the client.

I had as many as eight when I was on active duty, one personal, one spam-catcher, and up to 6 military, each reflecting different duties and responisbilities.

Oh geez, I’d totally forgotten about those – I have a bunch of them, and I don’t even know where or what the address or password is anymore.

Lookit all the electrons we’re wasting! And good (?) screen names!

1 official home isp

2 yahoos I use plus a couple I abandoned-tired of spam, name,

1 hotmail cause I had to for MSN messenger which I think is a gross waste of time but one person I talk to will only use MSN cause she values her privacy.

My situation is pretty much akin to stargazer’s. One for the private mail (and the SDMB notification), one for the more formal stuff, and one to which I’m trying to divert all the spam, although this usually doesn’t work.

I also have a Yahoo! ID which goes along with a mail account there, but I never logged in there so the mail account is deactivated (I needed the ID for webspace and Yahoo!'s online games).

1 Hotmail
2 Yahoo
1 work
1 “home”
1 other

The work one is exclusively for work. I use the Hotmail one for registering to sites, and I got one of the Yahoo ones for the Messenger thing they have. I can’t remember why I now have 2!
