Hey all,
I was lucky enough to grow up around family friends that at least had a Masters degree while most had PHD’s. These people, besides being really smart, were really helpful in school and such. For example, I took an Astronomy 102 class that was pretty easy untill the final take home test. The last question on the exam was something like “There is a gobular cluster orbiting the center of our galaxy. It’s mass is X. What is it’s distance and orbital period.” ( I may have the question wrong) Anyway, I knew that this was not a 102 level question so I called my Dad. (It was a take home exam). My Dad didn’t know the answer but he told me to call Sam the astro guy.(#1.) I called Sam and within 5 minutes had the right equation. I got the right answer. I was the only one.
The Prof was floored until I explained how I got the answer. It turned out that the Prof was applying to get on Sam’s payroll at Sandia Labs.
Anyway, maybe a better way to phrase this is how many “lifelines” do you have?
Eric
#1. Sam died from a brain tumor at 49. I miss the guy.
