How many gym memberships do you currently have?

Pretty straightforward. Curious how many gym memberships people currently have.

I have three.

You left out zero as an option.

+0

1 but it expires in 4 days

Zero. There is a gym that I go to for the occasional class, but I just pay a drop in fee for the class - no membership.

Dare I ask why you have three memberships? Seems like overkill, no?

One is a big chain gym where I can go just about anytime and run on the treadmill, lift weights or use other standard gym equipment.

Another is a boxing gym I have been going to for years that has speed bags, heavy bags and other specialty equipment that the big chain doesn’t have. Well, they have heavy bags, but they’re in the “group class room”, which always has Zoomba or something going on.

The last one is new and I’m already considering cancelling. It’s almost a combination of the previous two, but it’s more expensive and not in the greatest condition. The only reason I signed up is because a friend of mine teaches a class there and I really like his classes.

I’ll probably be back down to two soon.

One through being a university student, so, I don’t pay anything extra for it. I only bother to go in about four times a year though.

One that I went out of my way and signed up for. I go 1-3 times a week for their large indoor pool.

I voted “one” but I guess I should have voted “two.”

Not sure how to answer. I’ve never been in a gym.

I have a community gym membership, but I rarely go there. I do most of my workouts at the weight room where I coach high school kids after school.

The gym is a pain in the ass because I can’t do many of my workouts there. They don’t allow Olympic style lifting, jump all over you if you so much as bump a weight off the ground, and most of the gym goers move with the alacrity of elderly stroke victims. I’d rather go to the park and run laps, do pull ups and muscle ups from the swing sets, or some other kind of foolishness than deal with someone who asks me to leave because the weight made a slight bumping noise when doing heavy deadlifts.

One, but I’d like to join two. I have one near where I live but none near where I work. However the one near where I live is $10/month while all the ones near work are $40/month.

A lot of apartment complexes and companies offer in house gyms. Mine don’t, but a lot do. Are those included in the poll? A person could be a member of 2 gyms and not know it or use either (the gym at the apartment, and the gym at work).

Yeah, this poll is useless, there is no zero.

I stay in plenty good shape working out at home. I hate gyms.

Having been in a gym with grunters and weight-bouncers, I appreciate the silence from you free-weight guys. However, I will agree that a slight bumping noise is expected.

Wow, people have more than one gym membership? Geez, the one I’ve got costs me an arm and a leg. I’m not even speaking metaphorically. Literally an arm and a leg.

I can’t imagine how I could afford three gym memberships.

In any event, my condo building has a well appointed workout room and I usually run outside, so I’m down to zero.

The poll isn’t useless. I’m interested in people who have gym memberships (at least one) and how many they have.

I’m not trying to trying to determine the fitness level of SD members.

Unless my yard qualifies as a gym, I add my voice to the chorus calling for a zero option.

I have one free gym membership that commenced a nano-second ago, and will expire in a nano-second. And the gym doesn’t even know about this free membership. Sorry, this is the only way I can justify to myself voting ‘1’ in the poll.

Another vote for zero. I think we win the thread!

Used to have one… now have zero. So yes, I think we win the thread.

Here’s an alternate poll with a zero option.
