How Many Major League Baseball Games Have You Been To?

I worked for the Cubs when I was in college so I went to a LOT of games then. Since then not so much. Nothing like watching 70+ Cub games a year in person in the early 90’s to break you of a sport.

“What’s that? The Cubs are up by 3 runs at the bottom of the 8th and Sammy is up to bat? Sure Ill bet $50 bucks he swings at a 40mph and misses. Double or nothing he’ll load the bases, hit a tiny pop to the shortstop, close the inning and then they’ll lose by two”

Oh, and a game at the old Yankees Stadium, and one at Camden Yards.

When I was in the navy I went to a few in San Diego and I’ve been to a few in Seattle. What’s really messed up is that I’m not a baseball fan and yet on a trip home with one of my shipmates he and I stopped in Oakland to watch the A’s vs. I believe, the Rangers and I got to see a Nolan Ryan no-hitter. When a baseball non-fan like me can, strictly by chance, see a legendary pitcher like Nolan Ryan pitch a no-hitter in person, then there is no justice in the world.

less than 10, all Padres,

Only had a chance to go to a couple. A Dodgers-Padres game in Jack Murphy back in the early 90s and a Rockies game in the inaugural year playing in Mile High. I’ve seen a ton of AAA games but never have had much of a chance to catch major league games. Even now I’d be looking at a trip to Boston or NYC and I don’t like the AL, so it’d depend on interleague schedules and/or who the Mets were playing.

Hard to tell, as my father used to take us to a Dodgers/Angels/Padres game whenever we were on vacation in LA/San Diego (and I live in the San Francisco area, so I’ve seen my share of Giants and A’s games), so I’ve lost count. Certainly no more than 20, however, and definitely none since some friends took me to a Mets game at Shea back in 1984.

Oh, and racepug, you’re not the only one to see a no-hitter in Oakland; I was there for the four-pitcher no-hitter in 1975.

I’ve been to well over 100 Whitesox games. Probably 15-20 Cub games.

Padres…maybe 3 or 4
Brewers…3
Dodgers…2
Reds.1
Cardinals…1
Athletics…1
Tigers…1
Angels…1
Phillies…1

The SO and I had Cardinal season tickets for quite awhile (until the kids came) averaging about 60 games a season (plus playoffs), and my family also had tickets when I was growing up. We tried to figured it out one night and best guess was around 800 games.

I’m over 50 but not nearly 100. Mostly Jays with a dozen Tigers games or so. All in old Tiger stadium.

I’d guess between 150-200. The vast majority at Dodger Stadium, particularly since I became a mini-plan holder a few years back. In the last five years, including playoffs, I’ve probably been to 80 or more. As for other stadiums:

Angels Stadium: 10-15 times
Petco Park (and Qualcomm): 4
Progressive Field: 3
Chase Field: 2
Nationals Stadium: 2
O.Co Coliseum: 2
Comerica Park: 2
AT&T Park: 1
Wrigley: 1
Camden Yards: 1
Great American Park: 1

Over 50, all at Fenway.

I’m guessing I’ve been to ~40 games lifetime; might be above 50, but probably not. A few Nats v.2.0 games at RFK when I was a kid, 4-5 Red Sox games at Fenway when I was living up there for a year or two after college, one game each in Yankee Stadium, Shea, Chavez Ravine, and Turner Field along the way, a couple dozen O’s games in the late 1970s and early 1980s at Memorial Stadium, a game or two at Camden Yards later on, and several Nats v.3.0 games at RFK and Nats Park since they moved down from Montreal.

34 MLB stadiums for at least one game
18 of those for at least two games
12 of those for at least three games

And the crazy thing is that there are 13 current stadiums that I’ve never been to!

I have a 20 game per season plan for the Nats, plus I go to a few more a season if they are interesting games. I also will try to go to a game if I’m in a city that has a team. When the Nats first came to DC, you could get tix for $3 at RFK and went probably 5-10 times a year until I bought my plan a couple years ago.
