Similarly, Mass Effect requires a tolerance for a game with lots of dialogue - people with short attention spans who just want to kill stuff need not apply.
There is no such thing as a game that is universally appealing. There are some that are more widely appealing than others, but never universally. (I gather there are even people who don’t like Crazy Taxi. )
Mass effect is great, but there’s a bit of an initial hump to get over. It takes about 4 hours or so to get past the opening, get a few levels and get a grasp on the gameplay.
Once you do it’s great but be warned some persistance is required initially.
I’ve enjoyed all the Fables. Not as good of hack and slash as, say, Bayonetta (which is a 10/10) and not as fun of an adventure as the Zeldas but I enjoy them nonetheless. Since they’re all fairly similar, if you enjoyed any of the Fables then you’d enjoy the others. I think 2 was my favorite so far, though.
I got tired of Halo games, but if you haven’t played any of the earlier ones you’ll probably enjoy it.
I’ve heard so much good about GTA:SA and GTAIV but honestly after GTAIII and Vice City I was pretty much done with that genre.
