How many of you own and still wear Jean Jackets?

I have a Carhartt one that I got 5 or 6 years ago. It’s just now starting to get properly worn in. Looking forward to wearing it in a few weeks.

i have one from the hard rock cafe on beale street in memphis. i wear it often.

Me too! Sadly, or maybe whoo hoo, I grew out of it about three years ago!
Started going to the gym and now it doesn’t fit my torso  Haven’t gotten around
to buying a new one … it’s just that it took a good 5 - 10 years to brake that in
so nicely!

Someone left a Levi jacket at my house after a big party. I never figured out who she was, and no one claimed it. It has a small circular patch on the back with a U.S. flag type of motif. I just wear it cause it’s there, and I got it for free. Not so much after 9-11, 'cuz that’s so corny. (Maybe I’ll dig it out of the closet.)

I have a denim jacket (Levi’s type) that I wear most of the cold months. It’s big enough on me to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under, so it’s a nice weight for Tennessee. It’s hand-painted with a bay horse being ridden over a fence. I got it for Christmas 12 years ago. It’s getting shabby in the cuffs (which I roll up because the sleeves are too long) and some other spots, but the painting still looks good, and the horse bears a remarkable resemblance to my Irish, considering the jacket is about 5 years older than he is.

I picked up a very cute, somewhat-cropped, fitted jean jacket with just the right amount of stretch this summer. I’m looking forward to wearing it this fall.

Guilty as charged. It’s not lined, but it’s SO comfortable. I love wearing it, but I don’t get many opportunities.

I have a very peculiarly-cut little lavender jean-jacket of Chinese manufacture.

I bought it a few years back when I was doing rather a lot of MDMA. I really like the colour.

I’m secure enough in my sexuality to wear it once in a while, but I don’t often go anywhere where it’s appropriate, and the nicely colour-coordinated Ren & Stimpy T that I used to like to wear it with has had the biscuit. I don’t believe I took it out of the wardrobe this summer.

Maybe it’s time to let it go.

Before that my last jean jacket was a more run-of-the-mill “stormrider.” It got too grungy to wear around 1997 or so, and I had it put down. I don’t see myself buying another blue denim jean jacket any time soon.

I don’t have one right now, but they must be back in ‘style’ as my daughter just bought one. I think she bought it from Aeropostale or American Eagle or one of those kid stores. I just went in her room to check, but she must have worn it to school.

I had one in the late 80’s with a Zoso Back Patch on it.

It looked liked just the Zoso patch in that set but was yellow. I had it sewed on at the bottom of the back. It was a big thing where I was from to wear the big, square heavy metal back patches. My Zoso was awesome, though.

That jacket is lost to the ages.

I bought a jean-jacket at the Montreal Hard Rock Cafe in 1992. I only wear it in the early spring and late fall. Even after 13 years it looks like it’s brand new.

The key is to wash it separately and use the gentle cycle (to protect any patches).

My wife has a Planet Hollywood jacket from the same era.

Had one a couple of years ago, but I switched to a grey zippered hoodie, & ain’t looked back.

Mom has it now.

You can order them online at Walmart for only $32.00 for the big & tall size.

This was my problem with them: If I’m wearing jeans and a jean jacket, I think it looks like I’m wearing a denim jumpsuit.

And if I’m wearing khakis, a jean jacket is probably too informal.

Anyone else?

I’ve still got one that I’m meaning to cut the sleeves off and put my button collection on.

The 80’s aren’t dead! They’re not!!!

I used to have a knee-length jean jacket - kinda like a denim trenchcoat - and I painted a big coily dragon down the entire back of it. Looking back on this I’m not sure if it was so weird it was cool, or so geeky I should have been jailed for it.

I have a Gap denim jacket. I think I got it in the '80s. Maybe early-'90s. I ised to wear it all the time in L.A. on the motorcycle. Now? Not so much. I do put it on occasionally, but normally I’ll wear my Ron-Jon Mexican blanket hoodie or my blue Nomex flight jacket. When it gets colder, I’ll wear my peacoat. When it’s wet I’ll wear a North Face Gore-Tex jacket. (Gotta love a fabric with gore in it.)

I also have a dark-brown Levi’s corduroy jacket with fake fleece lining that I got in high school in the late-1970s. I never wear it, but I still have it.

I have one, it’s cropped and sort of stretchy, but not so much that it doesn’t look like “real” denim anymore. I got it for about $8 at Forever21 or something like that, one of those stores that sells mostly skankified uber-trendy clothes but sometimes has some cute stuff if you pick through the disasters.

I usually only wear it with a dresses or skirts. I like to wear dresses, but they are too “nice” for many occassions, and a denim jacket helps dress nicer stuff down and still look cute.
