How many of you own and still wear Jean Jackets?

I had a jean jacket with lambs wool in it in the 80’s for those cold Connecticut nights. I also had a jean jacket I wore to concerts that was ripped and fadded and there may have been a patch or two on it. Now I have a nice new levi jacket I wear when cavorting around in the fall picking pumpkins and such.

Anyone else have jean jackets they wear?

I had one in the 70’s, but I can’t remember what happened to it.

I’ve been thinking about getting a new one. The only jacket I have is a Land’s End squall jacket that’s usually too heavy to use around here.

I wear one in the fall. It’s nothing fancy; it cost me at most $30, and I’ve had it for 2 years now. Not warm enough to be all that useful, really, but I like it.

I always have at least one Levi jacket. They are hard to find in the good old hard denim with numbered sizes, seems like they are all that pre-washed stuff in S, M, L sizes now.

I’ve got one that I’ve had for a few years. It’s great when it’s kinda cool out but not really. Like for pumpkin picking as **Phlosphr **said or apple picking. Definitely a fall thing.

It’s been my standard mild-weather winter coat for decades. They are hardly out of fashion. Denim clothing is “in” again (for the 47th time) based on scanning this year’s back-to-school ads.

Note that there are good denim jackets and bad denim jackets. Levis are of course in the good category. But those cheap mall-store brand ones that are made out of thin material that “fades” to light blue after a single wash will never be “in”.

The question is: would this jacket have looked good on a young Marlon Brando?

I have a Levi’s jean jacket bought in 1986 that I still wear. Can’t button it, but still wear. I also have a Gap or something jacket that I will wear with more frequency. I also tend to wear them in autumn rather than spring.

I have 3:
One is a denim blazer-type I wear over a blouse for sporty at work looks (I work in a very casual environment)
One is a fitted Levis that I wear on chill-in-the-air but not really chilly business casual affairs
One is a big, faded, frayed jacket that I can wear over a hooded sweatshirt (not a hoodie) for apple pickin’ or bonfires and the like.

I have a Jean Jacket that has the Java logo embroidered on the back. (trade show pelf) I have to hide the d* thing every time my brother visits so it doesn’t disappear !

I wish I could find one in extra tall, like the one I had 5 years ago.

I have a baggy, off brand Denim jacket that I love for the fall and winter for it’s many pockets. Here in Arizona, we look forward to our three months of ‘Jacket weather’.

The zoid wardrobe must at all times consist of at least one jean jacket. This is mandatory; it is not open to discussion.

It is not requisite to wear said jacket at all times, but it must be available should zoid choose to wear it.

I have a “distressed” jean jacket that I bought from Benetton this season, with a matching skirt, but I’m not sure that counts.

I also have a cute jean jacket from the Gap that I wear in the spring for casual outings.

I never much cared for jean jackets, mostly because I normally wear jeans so much anyway that to have a jean jacket as well is just too much. If I wore khakis or chinos more, then I might want a jean jacket to go with them.

IMO of course.

For the past two years, though, just for being out and about in cool/mild weather I don’t like jackets at all anymore, because a sweater is so much more convenient in that it can be packed away inside a backpack, tied around the waist, and so on.

I’m wearing one right now. I bought it at Old Navy a few months ago.

I wore mine to work today (it’s always freezing in my office). Every time my coworker sees me wearing it she tells me how much she wants one. Apparently she’s been having trouble finding jean jackets in South Florida.

Old Navy, huh? I’ll have to tell my coworker about that. Thanks!

Had to run check the coat closet - 2 Malrboro jean jackets (mine & Mr. SCLs) and one Levi jean jacket. For someone who lives in Georgia I have an obscene number of coats and jackets.

Honestly, I had trouble, too! I mean, I don’t like shopping much, but the ones I found were really trendy and had weird cuts. This one’s a little fitted, but it looks normal and wasn’t too expensive.

I don’t own any currently, but I used to keep them around.

I also had a jacket cut just like a jean jacket, right down to the buttons and stitching, but made of tan nubuck leather.

I used to have a Marlboro one, but I haven’t had a jean jacket in a while. I should get another. I wore mine constantly, and it’s the perfect jacket for this climate, especially when it’s just a touch too warm to wear my red suede.
