How many people don't love their country?

I recently switched citizenship from British to another European country. Didn’t lose any rights, didn’t gain any rights…just didn’t want to be British anymore. The place sucks big time.
They should move all the insurgents to UK. The US and UK can then start bombing the crap out of them there, meanwhile the rest of the world can go about rebuilding Iraq without worring about suicide bombers or friendly fire. Any damage/destruction caused by the fighting in UK would only improve the place.

I believe it was Miller who made a comment on this topic in another thread that I really liked. Unfortunately, I can’t remember what thread it was, so I hope he comes in here and reposts or links to his previous post.

Love Denmark??

It’s cold and we’re taxed to hell and back.

I’d happily move away if I could just move my job and friends with me.

I love my country, but right now my feelings toward it are about what my feelings toward a relative who got drunk and made a scene at a major event in my life. I would still love them, but I would be embarrassed by them and wish they would not do that sort of thing.

“Listen, Country, the reason I keep hurting you is that I love you too much…”

A megasecond — being one million seconds — is about 11 days. That’s some hesitation.

As for me? I love my time zone. Semper fi, EST.

Bah. EST? News at 11:00 pm? That’s no way for humans to live.

Long live CST. God is on OUR side.

I was born in the US, but as some have said, I didn’t choose it. Still a US citizen, but I don’t love the country - never have. I have, and still do, greatly respect many things about it, but it was just random chance that got me there.

I do love Australia, though. I chose it. I may disagree with its politics in some cases, I may complain about the lack of Arby’s and the perversity of Vegemite, but I love the feeling of my new hometown, I love travelling here, I love studying here. I guess it just feels more special to me, because I made the decision to be here. shrug
