I must say I found this ironic, given your Indianess and its role in your public identity.
As it happens, and as I have pointed out, in my opinion, ad nauseum, most of the people in the classic MENA region are hardly all that brown, depending on the benchmark on chooses. Obviously Scandinavians as the benchy will skew things a bit, but I would hazard the opinion that by demographic weight, most of my MENA people are really no more brown that your average mid-Italian or Greek, which in America is no longer Brown at all.
In any case, I don’t believe my brownness, or lack thereof, is of real relevance, is it? Perhaps it is, I confess a sympathy, but are you so offended by that? Have you adopted that very PC, to use the standard stereotype, position one need be of the ethnicity to comment?
Regardless, this was one item that I thought was inconsistent with the general Lib philosophy. But we are all human, so no matter.
Now as to Truthy’s intervention. I agree to an extent, but I appreciate Sam’s intervention and the POV or warning. I will be thinking of that in the future, although again in my opinion it is exaggerated. I believe Truthy has it right in saying: “Truly high quality people” are annoyed by contentless abuse but they are also annoyed by contentless opinions that inevitably derail discusions just when they are getting interesting and complex.”
Laying aside my irrational detractors, and those who simply are irritated by me personally and thus I can’t really address, I am not insensitive to input. Sure, my last incarnation I took for broke. As I told Gaudere, I went for it and stopped caring about limits. Amusing in its own way, but not something I should repeat, as I made clear representations to the Mods and Admin to the contrary, very much as before I did not.
Now, what does this mean? Well, I said I was going to follow the rules, but I am, as Popeye said, what I am. Perhaps that means I am an asshole, as said by some. Perhaps just a bastard, or perhaps … well whatever. In any case, I do intend to banned again, and I endeavor to follow the rules. I may be skewed off to one side in the discourse, but I, despite some claims, am not operating beyond bounds as I am led to understand them by the moderators – although some of my Fan Club would love for that to be the case.
