How much do you drink per day?

How much water or basic other types of substances do you drink every day? I know I drink a lot more water than most people, and I’m wondering if its regional.

I live in California and I’m 14. I drink about 30-40 ounces every morning, and throughout the day I drink about 3-4 litres of water more.

Water - when I’m thirsty - and then I get it from the faucet or water fountain (or bubbler for the Wisconsinites).

Alcohol - not nearly enough

Yeah, I’d certainly say you drink more than the average.

I drink at least 2 litres of water a day, usually more.

probably 100oz or so. i drink a 2 liter of diet soda a day, i also drink milk & regular soda.

Some days about 1 litre of coke.

Other days 1-2 pints of milk.

Other days about 4-5 cups of tea.

sometimes I drink mineral water, sometimes fizzy mineral water.

Occasionally I’ll drink coffee.

I drink maybe two and a half liters of water a day but if I have soda on hand, I can easily drink two times that.

OJ: (1) 8oz glass = 8 fl oz
Diet Coke: (4) 20oz bottles = 80 fl oz
Tab: (14 3/4) 12oz cans = 177 fl oz
Poland Spring: (4) 16oz botles = 84 fl oz
Spaten ClubWeiss: (2) 16.9oz bottles = 33.80 fl oz
Wild Turkey: (2) 1.50oz shots = 3 fl oz

Total: 385.80 fl oz (3.014 gallons)

Wakeup: drink probably 4 oz. water.
Breakfast: 8 oz. cranberry juice
Then I try to remember to drink plenty of water.
Lunch: Water, mineral water, or a can of Dr. Pepper.
Drink more water!
Dinner: a big glass of milk, or maybe water.
Evening: drink more water!

The more water I drink, the happier I am. But I don’t drink as much as I should. I live in CA, and have always been a water fiend.

I don’t mean to hijack this, as its my first post and want to be cordial with all on the board, but a friend of mine told me he was ordered to consume 12 cups of water a day by his doctor. Does anyone know why he might have to do this? I have my suspicions, but just want some confirmation.
Thanks in advance.
Mike

I haven’t been keeping track lately, but I usually try to drink at least a gallon of water a day. Probably more some days, but rarely much less. I got into the habit of drinking a lot of water years ago, after a semi-problematic kidney infection. I get a weird deprived feeling if I don’t have a glass of water with me at all times. I bring bottles of water with me whenever I’m out for more than a few hours.

I don’t generally drink a lot of other beverages, but sometimes I’ll have a can of Pepsi. Lately I’ve been drinking one of those 8 oz. cans of Pepsi, almost every day. Other times, I’ll only drink a few Pepsis a week.

I’ve also got a weakness for Cactus Cooler, which is not available out here in Hooterville. So I have it “imported” in and will drink a can now and then.

I drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day, between 300-600ml of tea and about 500ml ml of coffee a day.

Good, lord is that a typical day for you? 8 plastic bottles, 15 aluminum cans, and 2 glass bottles. I hope you recycle.

I usually drink about 64oz of water a day.

Usually:

16 oz of orange juice in the morning.
8 oz of hot beverage (tea, hot chocolate, mulled cider) during the day in winter.
About 40 oz of diet soda with dinner.
About 10 oz of diet soda before bed.

In the summer, I don’t drink the hot beverage, but may have a bottle of diet soda in the afternoon.

As far as water is concerned, I agree with W.C. Fields: “I don’t drink water. Fish piss in it.”

Bubbler? Really?

That’s we call them in Australia, and when i use the term over here in the US no-one knows what the hell i’m talking about. Maybe i need to move to Wisconsin.

[/hijack]

HIJACK-Wisconsinite here, yes Bubbler. The rest of those "mericans " are crazy. Water fountains are monuments in a park. You drink from a bubbler.

And don’t even get me started on the soda or pop debate.-HIJACK

6 cups of coffee every morning
1 glass of juice of some sort
2-3 iced teas
16 ounces of H2O
2-3 domestic (to Wisconsin) beers

So 100 to 150 oz. of liquid a day

I drink a lot of spit. Sometimes I’ll also have a Dr. Pepper.

I’m destined for kidney stones.

I drink between 1 and 4 cups of coffee a day, plus whatever alcohol seems appropriate at the time.

I don’t do water (object to bottled stuff on principle, and Dublin tap water is dodgy), and only buy fruit juice occasionally.

irishfella on the other hand is never far away from a pint of water or fruit cordial (Mi Wadi, Ribena).

I drink aroudn 7 or 8 liters of water a day plus two cups of hot tea, two Diet Cokes, and one Diet Sprite. (in cans). That equals, lessee using 7 liters, 290 ounces or 2 and a quarter gallons. If I go to a pub in the evening, I usually drink 3 or 4 pints to add to the total. My kidneys are spotless

some days I go to bed and I realize that all I’ve had to drink all day is coffee and alcohol. No joke.
I get up, have 3 cups of joe at work. Get home. Have a beer or wine with supper and then another drink before bed.

Sometimes I sneak a soda in there with lunch.

The only days I drink any water to speak of are days that I run, and then I might have a liter or so after my run. Sometimes I won’t even have water after my run.

So, probably anywhere from half gallon to a gallon of fluid a day depending on how much alcohol.

I don’t seem to be able to dehydrate easily because both coffee and alcohol can dehydrate you I think. I spit a lot and pee a lot too. Is it possible my body makes too much water?

I drink a lot of water, but the only time I measure it is before or after a run. Before, because I don’t want to get dehydrated in the middle, and after, because I try to force it all in rather than being constantly thirty for half an hour.

Mountain Dew: about 12 oz a day, but in 3 separate doses.

OJ: about a gallon a week and a half. (Sometimes after a run I drink OJ instead of water, especially in the summer when running tires me out more.)

Screwdrivers: (hmmm, i notice my 3 favorite non-water drinks all have OJ in them!) I only have alcohol once a month or so, but when I do, I have a quintuple (at least!) screwdriver. People say I am wasting good vodka (I use a mixture of Ketel 1 and Belvedere,) but that’s the only potent potable I can stand the taste of!
