It varies upon the type of salon you go to. The one I was going to, it was $40 for a cut, I don’t know about color or any processing. Then that stylist went up to $47 (AFAIK, this is for women and men with this one person, but I think he primarily caters to women). That’s way out of my league for a haircut right now, so I’m looking for a new person - an acquaintance went to a place that was $23 and got a great cut, so I’m considering that place next time.
I pay 27.00 + 7.00 tip = 34.00 in a moderate upscale salon. I’m friends with my stylist so I get a slightly lower price, but not much. Considering my hairstyle, I have to get it cut every 14 to 17 days so pretty much twice a month.
60.00 for the cut and tip highlights. Yes, it was a brief phase I went through a year ago. Ended pretty quickly considering that eveyr 14 days the regular haircut would cut off all the highlighted tips so that just got too expensive.
£20 for a Remington hairclipper, and whatever electricity costs to make it go. An all over blade one is quite cheap for me
Besides in Belfast it costs £5 a go for that haircut, I did the maths
I pay about 30 euro ( the euro is worth a bit more than the dollar at the moment, but roughly similar) for a cut and blow-dry (female) in Ireland. Averagely fancy salon. Don’t know what guys pay.
One of the salons I go to near my office I pay $60 for a haircut. He is a wonderful stylist and I love the way he makes my hair look. It is worth every penny.
Another place near my home I tried last week just because I’m trying to cut costs was $28 and I loathe and detest this haircut. This ranks right up there with one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had.
I pay $12 for a haircut at the local barbershop and usually throw in a very relaxing shave for $10.
The shave is great, it’s like a manly facial. Hot towel, followed by a massage with some sort of moisturizing lotion. Then you get the hot lather and straight razor shave, followed up with another massage with aftershave lotion.
Here in Philly, I pay $55 for the haircut, $10 to the woman who washes my hair. It is absolutely my only extravagance – I am a notorious cheapskate – but my hair looks great for four full months till the next cut, so it’s worth every penny.
I pay $60 (plus $12 tip) to get my hair cut at Mario Tricocci, which is a salon / day spa. I used to pay less at the discount salons, but after too many bad haircuts, my husband convinced me that it is worth it to pay more for good quality.
He, by the way, pays $40 (with tip) for his cuts, and he keeps his hair short and simple!
Plus, all local sports teams properly coached, all local and national politicians properly chastised, and all the world’s problems solved in less than one hour of conversation!
$120 for highlights, a trim, and a tip for my stylist. Outrageous, but not nearly as bad as some. I think she charges $2.50/foil, so when I only need the front and top done, it’s less.
Whatever Gillette Mach III razor blades cost. I shave it right down to the wood. Guys, I can’t recommend this highly enough. As long as you don’t have a potato head. Also, the headblade is pretty good, but the blades that fit them don’t make it through my stubble as easy as the Mach III blades. YMMV.
We have one mall here, that has two hair salons in it. In one, the basic haircut is $14.00, the other is considered a little more “upscale”, and I think charges about $20.00 for a basic cut. Hubby’s hair is pretty hard to cut, because it’s very curly, so he pays the $14.00. However, the kids and I tend to get our haircuts at the International Beauty School, where a basic cut is $7.00. Color there (basic color) is about $15.00. I don’t know anything about perms, cuz I never get them, but the lower class salon in the mall had a sign recently advertising perms on sale for $30.00.
I usually spend around $10-$15 at the local cheapie places. Every so often I’ll splurge and spend the $70 at Vidal Sassoon, but the last time I went the shampoo boy (SHAMPOO BOY!) gave me such attitude I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
