How Much is a 3-Color LED Display?

I’ve decided that I want a BIG TV-something larger than 54"! So, those 3-color LED displays that you see at car dealerships: how much are they? Can they display video in high-definition? What kind ofpower do they consume?
Is anybody making LED-type TV receievers now? They seem awesomely bright!

The problem with a monster screen is that you need to sit back a reasonable distance so you can comfortably view the whole screen and so that the individual pixel elements are too small to be apparent. At that point you may as well just have a more reasonable size screen at a normal living room viewing distance. As for the jumbo LED screens I’m sure they use relatively large display elements which don’t scale down to a smaller size screen unless you are willing to live with low resolution. A 110" screen with a 16:9 ratio is going to be eight feet so a resolution of 1280x720 is going to have a pixel size of 0.075" square, a bit small for discreet LEDs.

I got an LCD rear projection TV in November which I’m happy with but if you have an insatiable need for size I’d look seriously at DLP projection units which should be most cost effective if you need to go bigger than 60"
