Just in his second term. On one end of the spectrum is the 100’s of billions of dollars on the war on Iran, which failed to achieve any of his goals. On the other end is the $13 million on the reflecting pool, which was an abject failure and will need to be re-done.
In between…$700 million on warehouses, purchased by ICE as detention facilities. Never used, about to be dumped. Or “Alligator Alcatraz”, now closed. (One could argue that ICE’s entire budget, part of the Big Beautiful Bill, was wasted)
He might be the most profligate spender with the least to show for it, in US history.
Geez, I hate to be biased of all things these days, but it would take a lot to convince me Orangeblob isn’t on the take in each of these “beautiful” restoration projects.
The billionaire owner of Green Water Solutions got his PAC donation back— Orangeblob keeps the rest. A no-bid contract, aka, give your friends a favor and take the moolah. He thinks he’s allowed to do anything he wants, remember?
Statues get repainted, replaced, ballroom built, redecorating Oval— nah. Part of the deficit tab is directly due to cash in his pockets. All these projects must have a kickback.
The legal & related expenses from the countless lawsuits must be mind boggling. Fair to say there isn’t going to be much left in the kitty for such things as social programs for years to come.
There is all the money that DOGE wasted destroying agencies that will have to be rebuilt after Trump is gone (a lot of that will be future money he has wasted during the rebuilding process).
He spent $765M of taxpayer money to kill wind power generators.
He spent $700M to invest in coal power production (I know some will think this isn’t wasting money, but it is to me).
How much has he spent increasing the amount of healthcare needed in the US due to his love of measles?
Ugh. I work for the government and one thing that is always drilled into us is, “Be a good steward of public money.” We try really hard not to waste money. It’s not ours, but that just makes it more important to be careful with it. We’re trusted to be responsible and try to reward that trust
Anyone in public service who flushes money down the toilet disgusts me.
My wife and I EACH had 33 years in public service. So 66 years. We ALWAYS put the public first. Always. THAT. WAS. OUR. JOB.
I worked in a “The buck stops here” department. And by god if I couldn’t figure it out I would find a way to get the person the data.
We worked for county government. Elections where almost sacred to us. I remember one time that an election day was supposed to be cold, we parked heated busses outside so people didn’t have to stand in line in the cold.
Like Roy Orbison said to the rest of the Traveling Wilburys. “That’s how it’s done boys”
