How often do you get PMs on here?

I get many, but that makes sense since I’m a mod. I get about one or two a day…and that’s from people who send me one initiating it, not in reply to PMs I’ve sent them.

As for sending PMs…heh. Well, let’s just say I have a tendency to PM posters that I like, randomly, for many different reasons. I’ve lost track of how many I’ve PMed on here over the many years. Most of the time I will get a reply back and then we’ll talk for a bit. Sometimes I won’t, though…and that’s okay too.
How often do you get or send PMs?

I only get them when playing mafia, or when I get a warning for making a joke that doesn’t go over so well.
Oh and then there was this one jerk who randomly wanted to be my friend. :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably one or two a month, outside of August which is fantasy football draft season. I play fantasy sports with SDMB members and we discuss things via PM. I also PM mods with SDMB related questions.

Rarely, usually when I want to discuss something “off-line” with a poster.
On average, around once every few months.

Years can pass between them.

Very few. In fact I had not even noticed they existed for the first few years. The bulk of the ones I received were some very nice responses to a thread I started when I lost my dog after 17 years. It was a bad time for me so it was sweet of people to care.

Me too. Four in all my time here. One was an April Fools joke, one was a warning. Two were interesting.

I’ve never bothered to empty my PM folder and it says I’ve had 8 total. Does that count the ones I’ve sent or just received? I can’t remember. Anyway, since I’ve been here 17 years, that’s about 1 every other year.

ETA: Just rechecked and noticed it was 3 received and 5 sent.

But for the other question: I don’t think we’ve had any Prime Ministers here at all.

I get bursts of communication, then nothing. I have a few people I count as friends on here, it’s nice to hear from them time to time.

I’m a Prime Minister of socks. And in such an important position I receive several PMs a century.

Also I’ve gotten a couple from some random posters about either how funny I am, I got a whole 1 of those and I think that is a world record for me, and a couple others having to do with business dealings usually stuff I was buying off of other posters and we had to exchange info.

I feel blessed.

Less than once a year. I’m not a very active poster.

I’ve got a friend on the board that we are in contact IRL, and we exchange PM. I sometimes get questions about Japan.

I have gotten about 100 in 16 years and sent slightly less than that. Many of them were not real board members but people that just found something I wrote and I wanted more info. A few were confrontational or stalker-ish.

I think you have messaging blocked. I tried to send you a 2nd message of all time saying that I appreciated your posts (which is true) but the option isn’t even there.
