The most popular Bluetooth device by far is the phone headset. Feel free to specify if that’s what you use or something else.
I only answered Blue- what now? because my answer is never.
I know what it is, I am aware of the devices, I just have no need or desire to use them currently.
Ditto.
My phone automatically connects to my car when I turn it (my car) on. I’ve told people I’ll never get a car without bluetooth* again. I absolutely love being able to just leave my phone in my pocket and being able to control it with two buttons on the steering wheel and some voice commands. Navigating phone menus is a bit of PITA so I usually reserve that for when I’m stopped, but just making regular calls is a breeze and I’ve never had anyone even so much as hint that they could tell I wasn’t using my phone in the regular way.
*or whatever the current technology is as we move forward.
I have heard about it as some sort of wireless connectivity thingy. If it was something we needed, Miss DrumBum is the CIO in the family and would have brought it to our attention.
this.
Perhaps once a week I’ll hook up my iPhone to our car stereo via Bluetooth so my husband and I can listen to podcasts together while driving. Other than that, I don’t use Bluetooth.
To the point where some people think that “Bluetooth” simply means “headset,” which is a somewhat annoying kind of ignorance. It’s like saying, “I sent you an internet…Did you get it?”
Just as often I use it to transfer work documents to and from my phone, so I can access them while commuting, or easily send someone a copy of something.
My husband’s phone talks to our new car, and I like that he can drive without holding the phone to his ear. My daughter’s car has the same feature.
However, those stupid little earpieces that people wear constantly like accessories look silly, regardless of who’s sporting one. Maybe I’m living in a strange world, but I can’t imagine having such a need to “stay in touch” that I’d have to wear my phone all. the. time. No, mister, I’m not impressed by your little tech toy and no I don’t think you’re super cool and cutting edge. Rather, you look like a Borg-wannabe.
I use Bluetooth to link my iPhone to the hands-free option of my car stereo. It works pretty well.
Even when recently offered “a bluetooth” for free, I passed on the offer of a free headset. If I’m on my cell phone for 15 minutes a month, it was an exceptionally chatty month.
I recently got a car that has Bluetooth capability. I love it! Hands-free dialling and calls. It’s much safer and very convenient.
I use my car’s Bluetooth connection to make and receive calls every day. I do not wear a Bluetooth (or any other kind of) earpiece, however.
I don’t own a car so my hands-free talking needs are limited. But yes, I know what such a device is.
It totally makes sense in a car, and even when physically occupied (holding the baby, etc.) but people who walk down the street talking into the air (ie into their bluetooth) because holding a phone is toooo hard look like assholes.
I said “daily”, since my car stereo has bluetooth and my phone is set up to automatically connect when the car is turned on. Though I don’t actually hold conversations daily, I could.
I don’t have any bluetooth accessories, but I’ve often considered buying an earpiece so that I can just wander around and talk to myself.
Daily.
My car (a Ford Mustang) has the Sync system, and a Bluetooth hook-up with my iPhone. I use it to make hands-free calls (probably 3-4 times a week), as well as listen to music from my iPhone while I’m driving (again, probably 3-4 times a week).
In addition, I have a set of Bluetooth wireless stereo headphones, which I use to listen to music from my iPhone while I’m running, 3 or 4 days a week.
Both my keyboard and mouse on my desktop computer are wireless and connect via Bluetooth. The keyboard I use with my iPad is Bluetooth as well.
Oh me too, exactly! I love my wireless keyboard. I also have the car connection.
I tried the headpiece and I hated it. Now I use earbuds with a mircrophone if I’m going to talk a while or talk while doing my exercise walk; that’s one instance where I don’t mind being wired.
I used to have the blue tooth headset for my phone, never used it.
Now my car is connected to my phone via bluetooth, so use daily. Plus, my iPad connects to a keyboard via bluetooth. use that function about once or twice a week.
