I’m going to be involved in a musical production again at the end of this year and I’m thinking about producing some animated video footage to go with one of the scenes that is otherwise just some mellow piano music and narration; here’s (roughly) what I want to do:
I want it to look ‘sketchy’ and I only plan to do just five frames per second, but have them blend together a bit (this might be as simple as stringing the frames together as an AVI with the ‘onion skin’ thing) - I plan to render the ‘framework’ of the thing as a wireframe model from some 3D package or other (I already have several, one of which I’m sure will be suitable), then sketch over the details in some art package or other (one that has ‘natural’ brushes), using a graphics tablet (which I also don’t yet have), then assemble the frames into some kind of video footage. I also need some kind of video player software that can handle a dual-monitor setup - playlist and controls on one, full-screen video on the other.
That’s how I thought I’d do it, but I welcome your suggestions; I don’t have a huge budget for this project, but I can stretch to registering a few shareware packages perhaps.
