George Carlin on earrings:
I’ve seen one guy with nipple piercings. He did it himself, at home, after boiling a diaper-style safety pin. shudder Then he insisted on coming to work and showing our group of friends, daily, demonstrating the healing process.
This guy was a gorgeous, handsome blonde in the beginning of the semester. By the end of it, he’d dyed his hair so many times you could no longer see the color, and it was dry and scratchy, he’d pierced both ears, both nipples, possibly his cock, (he never showed that to me) and for me, at least, lost a lot of his good looks.
But you know what? He was happy & healthy and so I still loved him.
I can’t believe this thread is still rolling - this might be my longest lived thread to date. Some responses:

I completely agree. If it really, really bothered somebody in a relationship, I might see taking them as a consession. But I can’t really see myself being with somebody that would get hung up over a couple of tiny hoops in one ear. So there ya go.

That was a really, really sweet thing to do. I’m sure you do look cool with your piercings.
To general sentiments that ear piercings on guys aren’t really a big deal anymore, I agree. I kind of miss having a lit bit of an “edge” so I’m kind of ready to do something else. You’d think I’d be over it at 27, but I guess not. Quarter-life crises, anyone?
But i have an important question, who were “the squares”?
Please help me understand this.
You should wear it the way you like and not worry about what people say. I do know the right ear only mean you’re gay. I like one earing on a guy not 2.
This thread is 10 years old, and back in the day no one could agree on which ear was the gay ear. You’l hope we’ve moved beyond that just a bit in the intervening years.
