How to eat Ramen Noodles?

The only reason anyone would ever eat ramen noodles is convenience, so why waste precious time with all that boiling water tomfoolery. Just eat 'em straight outta the package.

My question is this: does anyone eat just one package of ramen noodles at a time? That hardly seems worth it - I always eat at least two.

Admittedly, I’m a starch addict, and have been known to eat 16 oz of pasta at a single sitting. Not that I’m bragging or anything.

Add noodles to boiling water. Cook for a few minutes, drain. Add flavor packet. Take outside and bury immediately. Walk across street to McDonalds. Congratulate yourself on ridding the world of one more packet of ramen noodles.

 I survived, like so many others, on that stuff in college and ate enough that now it turns me green at the thought. Never again. Same reason I’ll not set foot in another Taco Bell.

There’s a reason why some food is cheap. As God is my witness, I’ll never be THAT hungry again.

Geez, I still like the stuff, and probably eat two bowls a week as my late night snack. I don’t eat the ‘ramen’ brand, but rather ‘Ichiban’, which I think is higher quality.

Throw noodles in boiling water. Wait until soft, add flavor packet. Stir and let boil for another minute to soak up the flavor. Break out saltines and and add maybe 8-10 broken up crackers. Stir until crackers are mushy. Turn up to high heat and let the soup reduce until you are left with highly saturated noodles and saltines. Take spoon and mash into paste. Eat as paste or use as a spread for hard-boiled eggs.

All these ramen threads that have been popping up lately have influenced me to start buying them again, after a hiatus of 4 or 5 years. Mmm…

I used to drop an egg into chicken ramen when it was cooking. Particularly nice during cold, rainy weather.

Other than that, I’m with the OP as far as preparation goes.
