How to get rid of a channel that comes in on my YouTube feed

There is a channel that keeps showing up on my YouTube feed and I want to get rid of it. It’s so disgusting. I have tried twice replying with really ugly comments against it but that hasn;t helped yet. I am afraid that if I click on it more it will never go away. Anybody have a way to get rid of a particular channel?

If you are logged in to YouTube you will see three vertical dots under the bottom-right corner of the video. Click on that and tell YouTube, “Don’t Recommend Channel.”

I have tried this and it worked, for the one video. I will keep my eyes open to see if other videos in the channel come back. I have no desire to hear how sharia law is best for women.

Scroll past it, don’t listen to it ever. Don’t click anything. Don’t look at adjacent subjects(might be anything).

It will eventually fall down the line and go away. Might take awhile.

Commenting on videos indicates to the YouTube algorithm that you are interested in the channel and want to see more of it…

I had this problem. If you search my history here, you will find it. Nothing worked. All of the suggestions failed me.

First, I never gave any indication that I ‘liked’ or wanted any videos. My Facebook is intentionally locked down. I have no friends, no posts, no images, no background.

The only solution I found was to give up and start watching, or liking less offensive video channels. So now I get content shoved at me that I at least don’t mind so much

While I have you here, although logged onto youtube, I cannot comment or like other comments. What am I doing wrong?

The channel I wanted to get rid of has not reappeared. Thanks to everyone who helped.

FWIW I get some repeating channels (kinda). It is almost always AI spam stuff. Zero effort videos.

I tell YouTube to block (say) “Sci-Fi Alien” channel and tomorrow they are back with the “Sci Fi Alien” channel and then the “SyFy Alien” (and so on). I am relentless in telling YouTube to block them but they are a machine. Very annoying.

I wonder if the “Not Interested” selection might be more useful but then I click on a story about (say) Isaac Asimov and it all comes flooding back.

Are you paying for YouTube?

I think you have to be logged in. I’ve never been moved enough to comment on a YT vid, so I don’t know if I could or what you do to click it on.

Yeah. If the ‘not interested/don’t recommend channel’ controls are not working, I would also suggest:

Delete any comments you made on the video.
Open your watch history and delete the video from there.
Check your subscriptions and make sure you haven’t accidentally subscribed (this might sound weird but there are several ways in which you can accidentally become subscribed to a channel)

But definitely, watching part of the video and hate-commenting will do the opposite of making it go away.
