My friend has some movies she bought and downloaded but we would like to watch them on her TV.
How do I do that? Are there special Cables I need?

So…in less time than it took you to type your post no doubt…I googled this
Before you jump on buddy’s balls, you should see if your link is even useful. Given that the only output on a Macbook is a mini displayport, which isn’t mentioned in the article, it ain’t very helpful.
Anyway, you’ll want a mini Display Port-to-HDMI adapter. That’ll connect video from the MacBook to the TV. If you need DVI instead, get an adapter to that. If you need component or VGA, just abandon this project now. The adapter will run you about $10 on the Internet. You’ll also need a 3.5mm phono to RCA for audio. Those are about $5.
Thanks Palooka. Exactly what I was looking for, the things that are not always covered in a quick Google.
What year is your MacBook?
Later 2010 models allow both video and audio via HDMI with an adapter by Moshi. I purchased my book in February and the audio is not an option via HDMI. To check, go to Settings, Sound, Output and see if you have an option other than the Internal Speakers.
However, the video output looks great on my Vizio 42". I tried the 3.5mm RCA jack (white & red cables) and my TV ignores them when on HDMI. Not a huge deal, I plan to get speakers form my MacBook that’ll fix it.
Thanks sparky! - I’ll ask.
You guys are the best!
Yeah, the year thing is important. A few years back, when they switched from Intel to NVIDIA, they also switched from mini-DVI to mini-DisplayPort. That doesn’t change much, you’d just need a mini-DVI-to-whatever instead if it’s an older model.
