Someone at work just told me something I’d never heard. She said you know when your child isn’t going to grow anymore when the length of his or her foot is the same as the length of the forearm, from the elbow to the wrist. I just put my foot on my forearm, and sure enough, it’s just about the same length as my inner forearm. But is there any truth to this? Did my foot fit there when I was ten or twelve? Anyone ever heard this before, and know where it comes from and if there is any truth to it?
My feet stopped growing in the 9th grade. Been an 8-1/2 ever since. Glad I didn’t stop getting taller. OTOH, I was always told that you should stop growing before your waist equals your height!
I’m assuming the rest of you has grown since the 9th grade though? And does the ‘foot/ forearm’ test work for you now?
I first read about the “foot/forearm” proportionality thing when I was about 13. Tried it, and sure enough, they were the same size.
I grew at least 3 inches after that.
