I’m bored. Really bored. I haven’t had a single order all day and I’ve only had work related calls about 10 times.
I tend to overeat when I’m bored (don’t we all?). Well, I wanted Peanut M&M’s. I hit B8 instead of D8 on the vending machine. Do you think I got M&M’s? No, I got Fritos Chedder Ranch Flavor Twists. Holy Crap! These things are totally disgusting! I think I managed to eat half of one. I wasted 75 cents but at least I didn’t eat 190 calories worth of this nasty stuff.
Mmmmmm…Flavor Twists
I’m the same way, and I haven’t found any tricks to get rid of the urge to munch while bored. So what I do now is have fresh veggies handy and I eat as much as I want. Like carrot sticks, cauliflower, radishes, etc. For the calories in a pack of M&M’s, you can eat a whole head of cauliflower. Not that you’d want to, but that’s sorta the point.
HA! Even more than 1 head! Probably, like, 9-10 heads of cauliflower for one pkg of M&M’s. You could get, like, cauliflower crazy even!
:smack:
Chewing gum?
Smoking? (Really bad idea imho, but it probably would work…)
tic-tacs?
You don’t need to eat per se, but you probably need to keep your mouth busy. Carrots or celery? Something low calorie that you can munch on continuously.
I prefer pickles.

One of my little diet rules is, if you want to snack, that’s okay, but you have to snack on something healthy like fresh vegetables. If you’re jonesing for some cookies, but find that you don’t want to eat some carrot sticks, then, guess what–you’re not actually hungry.
It takes a little effort but I keep something healthy on hand at all times. Baby-cut carrots, celery sticks, broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber chips, cherry tomatoes, sliced bell peppers (my favorite!)
Hmm . . . I think I’ll go have a snack . . .
I agree with the OP, though. All “ranch” flavored snack foods suck.
