This is corny but I subscribe to support the site, I really like this place. I don’t see ads anyway but I spend so much time here it only seems right to pay for it.
I agree. I don’t know why people keep bumping this thread to ask for updates. It’s not like TPTB are going to start allowing memberships again but keep it a secret from everyone. Once they decide everyone will know.
I think it is reasonable to try and nudge the power that be to please take our money.
Do mods even know who the powers that be are? Do they even read ATMB?
For this mod at least, the intermediary is Ed Zotti. I don’t know the higher level at all.
That’s kind of what I mean. It’s pointless to ask mods because they are not part of the decision making process. When a decision is made, you guys will know then we will know. Nobody is going to keep it a secret. And TPTB are unlikely to even read the message board at all.
Fair, but we have asked Ed Zotti about it at least. We have easier access to him than most posters. But no, we can’t check with the upper management and I’m fairly sure they like it that way.
If it’s not out of line to ask, how and how often do you communicate with @Ed_Zotti ? Do lowly Mods have to go thru former Admins to bow down to the great @Ed_Zotti or can you bow down directly?
Ed is copied on everything that goes around the mod loop. We also have a couple of ways of contacting him immediately if there is some sort of emergency. All mods can contact him directly, and in fact we have a list of “contact me immediately if any of these happen” types of things.
I know some of the higher level folks, but there’s no reason for me to ever contact them directly. If any issue comes up that I think management needs to know about, I take it to Ed.
Ed is aware of the subscription issue. It’s come up a couple of times when we have had zoom meetings. I know upper management is aware of it, but I don’t have any other info at this time.
Ed doesn’t post much, but I know he reads ATMB and Site Feedback. I don’t know about others in upper management but based on some of Ed’s comments TPTB seem to know a lot more about what goes on here than most people think.

I’m mildly curious to know if I’m in any peril of losing my “Charter Member” status. It’s the only thing that makes me feel important around here.

If it makes you feel better, it’s one (just one?) of those things you have that provoke a not inconsiderable degree of envy, at least from my own perspective.
