Oh, and for some reason, I can’t find this post, either but Doggio–how many employees do you have left?
Stoopit board. I had NOTHING to do this morning and couldn’t enjoy it. Bah.
I was in meetings all morning and couldn’t post or read the Dope. The outage was the universe’s way to keep me from falling behind.
Thanks there, universe!
Almost forgot, whenever I feel the crazies coming over me, I tend to do impulsive sorts of things. But lately I’ve managed to channel it into fairly harmless things like, for instance, a new hair color.
And, for the long awaited scoop (heh) on the cookie dough leaver outer… It’s rather a bit of a let down. Basically, I let her and everyone else know that from now on I would not pay for their mistakes. I had never officially created this policy before, so I didn’t charge her. Actually, though, she was very apologetic and offered on her own to pay half the ingredient price. So that’s that.
If everyone followed my oft given advise about makin’ sure there’s always plenty of tp around, there wouldn’t be a problem, now would there? You’re on your own with the milk and bread thing though.
Yay for Mr. Rebo’s new job! Rebo I hear ya. That’s why pool time is kinda dangerous for me wrt smokin’. See, drinkin’, partyin’ and smokin’ have always gone together for me. I worry that I can’t be a “party smoker” so I have to really watch out for that. Heh. Ol’ y’all who can do that. Seriously. He can “party smoke” and then not even think about it til the next “party smoke” time. I’m afraid that if I tried that I’d end up smokin’ everyday again. Ummm… they are not good for anybody, but… the dang things sure do taste and smell good. So, I just gotta learn to behave.
In other news…
I got “told on” at work. HEE! Remember how I said I had to have a talk with somebody about arranging her own way to work? Well, this mornin’ she proceeds to call in and tell her Manager that she couldn’t come in to work because I refused to pick her up. Can y’all believe that! It’s like junior high all over. Anywho… said Manager told me what she said and also let me know that he reminded her that she is an adult and thus responsible for gettin’ herself to and from work.
He’s a funny guy. He came up to me and told me he just got off the phone and that I was told on because I actually expected one of his group to be an adult. Then he told me what she said. I asked him if I’d get to wear a sign around my neck that says “Meanie”. A couple of minutes later he came up and stuck a postit on my shirt that had “Meanie” written on it, sayin’ it was the best he could do on short notice. And yes, I am still wearin’ it. I think I have a new work nickname.
ETA: Pie are ya havin’ more fun yet? Oh and good for the employee for ownin’ up and offerin’ to do that. Personally, I hope you took her up on it.
I have been productive. Trash and recyclables are disposed of. Hair has been cut. Bad Chinese has been consumed for lunch. Mother has been called (and about talked my ear off…) Kitteh and doggeh have been skritched. I’m about to toss our whites (mostly unders) into the washer.
I’ve seen a few snowflakes fluttering by outside. Not even enough to be called flurries - just random flakes. Kinda like the MMP - random flakes. (nothing personal, swampy…)
And now, off to launder.
I’m being bad and having chicken fingers for lunch.
Doubly bad, actually, because they’re deep-fried (and therefore bad for me) and because I brought a lunch to work (but didn’t really feel like having last night’s leftovers when noon rolled around).
I redeemed myself by saying no to fries.
Now if only I could follow Pie’s example and drag my bum to the gym, all would be well.
swampy, my Dad just gave us some tp. Elderly Japanese man born during the Depression- he hoards stuff.
We just had a successful trip to the grocery store! Nat slept through the whole thing. I’m not sure he knows he left the house. And he wore the snowsuit BooFae sent him.
So, when do they start sleeping through the night?
Cutie, **Mousie **-- I’m alive. Aren’t you relieved to know that?
Just, between Real Life and board outages… I pretty much stayed caught up reading, but didn’t get a chance to post.
Ivory, you didn’t ask about me…
Nothing much to report from this part of the world… carry on!
It may take me all day to catch up on the last 18 hours of posts, even with the outage, but no time right now. Wouldn’t you know, I lazed about this past weekend because I had ample time on the deposition they’d sent me that was taken on 2/13 and not due for 10 business days. Which is next week, right? Wrong-o. The idiots at the office neglected to change the delivery info on the stuff they sent me OR mention it to me in an email or on the phone, so I just learned this morning that I have three full days’ worth of depositions to get done by day after tomorrow.
:smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack:
That’s what I’d like to be doing to THEM, needless to say!
So back to it. I’ll just sit here and work while Papa Tigs looks out his hotel room window at the crowd gathering for the parade at Disney World. Yeah, some people have it rough.
Ow. My feet. I wore my new Professional Shoes to work today and I can already feel where I’m gonna get blisters. I hate breaking in new shoes. That’s what I get for parking where I usually park and walking 15 minutes to campus.
Last night I got home late and Complicated Roommate wanted to go to IHOP. I thought long and hard for a minute, decided I was too bitchy to go observe this morning, and went with him. His car broke down yesterday anyway, so if I didn’t go he was gonna have to stay home. It turned out to be a good thing we went, too. We had to wait eighty years to get the check because it was half-off college night and all the froshies were coming in at midnight because “oooh, we don’t have curfew anymore, let’s live it up.” Irritating at the time, but it paid off later on.
We stopped off at a gas station so Complicated could get some smokes. There was a guy in an F-250 spinning his tires behind us and then he parked .00004 inches away from the driver’s side door. Complicated squeezed past the truck and went in. When he came back, he was very nervous. F-250 dude was drunk off his ass. We watched him try to spin donuts in the parking lot (almost taking out a gas pump in the process  ) and Complicated Roommate called the police. As we left there were three police cars chasing him down the block. I like to think that’s why the check took so long, so that we would see that guy and stop him before he killed someone.
And that’s why I didn’t go to my observation this morning. The End.
I thought I scared you with too much real life!
How ya’ doin’?
Three kids.
A 15-YO daughter and 11-YO twins.
All three do have ADD. The little guy, of course, is ADHD…
I have seen it all :smack:
Not too bad… 'specially now I know you missed me, too And you? How did the kid’s evaluation go?
Good! We spent a huge amount of money to find out he’s stubborn ! (Among other important facts like writing issues and memory issues).
The doc is very confident that we can devise a plan… getting the kid to buy into it, that’s another story!
Teenage daughter, eh? God help me, mine is almost 10 and I’m already scared of her!
Hey, all you should have needed in order to figure that out is a mirror!
My little guy is dysgraphic, too… I can sympathize. Best of luck!
It’s all in the attitude… at 13 or so she tried to shock me by playing me some Metal…
Last October, when her favorite band actually played Tel-Aviv as part of their tour, the only reason I didn’t go to their concert too was I didn’t want her to be embarrassed by having her old man around
Oh, and we both keep teasing her about who she should finally choose as her boyfriend… the funny thing is she’s the one who isn’t ready for all this “romance” stuff just yet…
Whew! Finally caught up. I missed the whole outage thing this morning.
Good - if frigid - day here today. I went to lunch with a couple coworkers that I hadn’t really talked to before other than “Hi” in the hallway. They’re both really nice and lunch was fun. I definitely think I’ll be getting together with them again. It’s nice to have people to go to lunch with.
Spaz, what’s the observation thing that you didn’t go to this morning? You’ve probably explained before and I just missed it. Or I’m forgetful. Anyway, good for you guys for calling the police and stopping the drunk guy.
I’ve got new boots for work today. They’re SOOOOOOOO cute! I looooooove boots and hate when boot season is over. Other shoes just don’t cut it for me. Boots, being higher cut than regular shoes, stay put better on me than other shoes. Plus, you’re supposed to wear socks with boots. My always-super-cold feet like that a lot!
We called the vet - we can pick Scruffy up in about an hour. That means only one more hour of peace and quiet here.
Bernie is driving me nuts. She is so jealous of Scruffy. Normally when I’m here at the desk, Scruffy is on the fuzzy bed under my desk. Well, right now, Bernie has her head and shoulders under the desk, and her butt preventing me from pulling closer to my keyboard. She is such a goober! And Taz is on The List - but we’ve pretty much figured out that there’s no way we can keep him off the counters. Just a few minutes ago, he was walking on the breakfast bar, and **FCD ** went over to chase him off. Well, the cat plopped down and present his belly for skritches. How the heck to you yell at that?
Stoopit cat.
And my kid called. She’s got her boarding pass for tomorrow. Her fiance will take her to the airport at 1030. Her flight is due in BWI at 2:40. Weather permitting, her dad will get her home before 5. YAY!
Is it Firday yet??
One of the cats threw up on the bed.
Cat for sale. Not too bright. Any takers?
If your cat looks anything like **Taz **and Silly, we can pool our resources and make one really nice scarf from all three of them.
And sell it on eBay.
Hey, Taz may be a pain in the butt, but he’s entertaining. He’s not a scarf nominee yet…
Home safe & sound. Whew … the snow is coming down, but so far not sticking to the ground. The storm I’m more concerned about now, though, is the one supposed to come on Thursday night into Friday–it’s supposed to start as snow then change to sleet/freezing rain. I’ve already told my boss that I won’t be in if it is doing that on Friday!!!
The paper had a booklet from Trader Joe’s in it this morning (inside the Food section), so now I want to go back there! All the stuff we tried from there was delicious, and I especially liked the Trader Joe’s Greek yogurt. I want to try some of their frozen and already prepared foods, most of which are all-natural. The prices are -very- reasonable! Depending on the weather on Saturday, there may be a trip in the offing.
