Frick. I honestly thought it was Firday when I woke up. By the time I got to work, I realized it was only Thrisday. That’s okay - it’ll be Saturn-day soon enough.
Yet another long day of jury duty. Good grief, I can understand why this trial will take three weeks. Ugh! I can’t wait until it’s over. Then I’ll be able to tell you about it.
I’ve just returned from the Y where I not only did the machine I’ve been using on all my previous visits, I added two more machines to the rotation, along with my laps on the track. Today I did 26 laps around the track. Six laps equals a mile, so that means I did just a little over four miles. I ran two of the miles, not consecutively, but I did run. I’d run a lap, then fast walk, run a lap, then fast walk, you get the picture.
The other machines I worked out on work my abdomen. One of them is sort of like a crunch machine, and the other one requires me to swivel my hips to bring the weights around to the other side. I’m sure I’ll be paying tomorrow. My legs never seem to bother me, but my poor tummy will definitely be sore tomorrow.
I’m still barely hanging on by a thread here. I still can’t eat and frankly, it’s all I can do get through the day. I was hoping that I’d start accepting it, but I haven’t and can’t. I feel like a pathetic idiot.
Oh, gosh taters, you’re not a pathetic idiot. I remember counseling my mother through that time, and it was awful and hard. She lost 60 pounds she couldn’t afford too, and still suffers from it. You can’t just wake up and be done with it. I don’t think anyone would ever expect one to. This does not make you pathetic, nor an idiot. It makes you human. Day by day, take it, and you know we’ll always be here for you.
And Super Special hugs for you and MCUNE, the Little Guy gives these full body hugs where you throw your arms around the other person and just hold on. They do wonders for me, I’m hoping the the thoughts will warm you guys just a little.
Home. Canes won. LOnly hurting a little.

Home from an early trip to buy groceries. HRH is asleep and hubby is at a funeral (his best friend’s father passed away yesterday after a long illness). I need to sort through my menu plan and see what I want to cook for lunch.
HRH and I are going out this afternoon to a friend’s house. This friend has two miniature schnauzers, so I thought it would be good to give HRH a chance to meet the puppies and have some positive exposure to dogs, since dogs are few and far between around here and are generally thought of as dirty and only to be kept as working animals (e.g. police/drug sniffer/guard dogs).
Okay, off to sort out the lunch menu!
ETA: thanks for the blog link LiLi. I have saved it in my favourites now! Gnat is so cute in his widdle bunny hat!!!
I lived in Miami for 4 years and I don’t really recommend it as a place to stay for more than a few days; if you’re going there, get a hotel either on Miami Beach, Cocowalk or close to the Metrorail, though. I liked the clubs in Coco better than those at the Beach (more dancing, less posing), but it’s been a ridiculously long time so it could be very different now. I loved shopping at the Bayside and Coco, but there’s only so much shopping one can do and, really, neither of them is so large.
On the other hand, a week combining Miami and the Keys sounds like a great idea.
Good morning all! Up and caffienating here, although I am -not- going in to work. Wee! And Happy Firday as well.
Right now, it is sleeting; the roads are supposedly well-treated, but I know many side streets and sidewalks are NOT. Most area schools are closed. It’s going to be sleet/freezing rain for most of the day, but will change over to all rain by later this afternoon. So, I am in for the day. I can’t work flexiplace, unfortunately, but I will at least check my work email from time to time during the day. I hate having to use my leave like this, but it’s better to use the leave than to chance falling and injuring myself.
ETA: corrected spelling, which I missed even with preview. :smack:
{{{Taters and MCUNE}}}. Like MBG said, hang in there and remember we’re here for y’all.
Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. ‘Twas a rainy night in Jawja and ‘twill be a rainy day. It keeps thunderatin’ off in the distance so I’m wonderin’ if we’ll be all thunderboomy soon. I loves me a good thunderboomer but I prefer to be at home to enjoy it. What? I like watchin’ it!
Oh well, off to forage for some brekkies and caffienate some more.
Later Y’all!
Swampy, you made me chuckle this morning. I read your “thunderboomer” as “thunderboner”.
Thanks for all the hugs everyone. I greatly appreciate them.
I’m up already and almost ready to head to work. I’m working early today in my OLD job. One person is out sick and the other is off today, and my manager asked me to cover. I told her I would need access to certain applications and she pulled some strings and got me access. The good thing about it is I’m done half an hour earlier today. YAY!
MCUNE, Thunderboner! I titter just thinking about it!
Swampy, what? My pantry not good enough for ya now? sniff
Mornin’ all! Up, caffin’ here. Kid lunches packed, just have to bundle up and herd out the door.
It’s Firday! Shout it from the rooftops!
Up and caffeinating. Firday may or may not be good.
Thunderboner <SNERK>
No wonder ACBG likes him so much…
Mornin’ y’all.
Good Morning!
It’s SNOWING!!! Yeah!!!
I’m blind! I can’t see! Everythig is WHITE!!!
3 inches so far and still coming down steadily
and since, with my back, I can’t do any significant shovelling, I am stuck at home until some high schooler decides he could use $20. 's’okay, tho - I’ll just go back to sleep.
I actually knew this was going to happen. Not specifically this, but to everyone who said “wow. winter’s almost over and we got off easy”, I said “We’ll get hit hard in February. We always do when we have mild Decembers and Januarys”

Happy Firday, everyone! Finally. This has been a long week for me. Mr Rebo is home, taking his last day of vacation. Then next week he is only working Mon-Wed, and starts his new job Mon Mar 3. Good for him to get some time off. Plus they put him back on days for the duration. They finally figured out that Home Depot WILL NOT take delivery after 8:00 pm anymore! :smack: He’s only been telling them for almost two months. Dumbasses.
I need some breakfast…
Hmmmm. Taters–I suggest a visit to your doctor, just to rule our a physical cause. And s/he might be able to help you with an anti-depressant. I say this, not because I believe in medicating life away (I don’t) but because your exercise regime, coupled with your lack of intake can lead to Trouble. A mild anti-depressant can take just the edge off, enough so that you can at least eat a bit and not work(out) yourself to injury.
I slept the sleep of the just; had an odd dream about my mother’s old garden, the creek that ran through it, floodwaters and sphagnum peat moss. Perhaps it means that spring is not far away?
VunderBob’s List of the Sure Signs of Spring: (no particular order)

I’m making up a lame list such as this

-
The Ringling Brothers Circus is in Norfolk, and there was the traditional snowy forecast for the opening day.
Anyone have something else to add?
It’s raining here. Curse the snow line! Curse it!
I got off work early today because there’s a big reorganization in another department and The Powers That Be told Reference to hold off on the weeding for a bit. So I got to go home at 10 rather than get off at 12. Which is good because Complicated Roommate is coughing his lungs out in his room and needs to go to the doctor. I have to drive him because his car is D-E-D right now.
Everyone around me is getting sick. With my luck, I’ll probably spend all of Spring Break with the death plague.
