How to throw a party! - A 12-step MMP

{{{MCUNE}}}

Last week was insane at work. I’m tahred.

Libby the kitty woke me up at 7AM when I was planning a lie in and now she is napping

I am headed to the shower then off to get a Mother’s Day card for my Mam - it is mothers day in the UK next Sunday. It is normally the last Sunday in March but that is Easter this year for some reason. Then I have to hit to post office to get it mailed!

I am having a bunch of engineers and friends form work over tonight for burgers and stuff so I have to swing by the grocery store for the fixins. Then I must wipe the kitchen down and set up the guest bathroom with towels & soap.

I have an exciting life.

oo oo oo oo Forgot to add Mr ems-to-be worked his last day at his job yesterday and will be starting the 1500 mile drive out here next Wednesday to come out here permenantly. I am VERY excited
Hugs to all

Yayyyyyyy mmmmms for no more long-distance relationship! Hubby and I did that for 2 years before we got married (me in Australia and him here in Bahrain). It sucked major a$$!

{{{MCUNE and Sis}}} That well and truly sucks!

Mornin’ Y’all! I’ve been a lazy bear today. I did not go in to work today. Hee. I slept til almost nine this mornin’ even. We’ve breakfasted and cleaned up ourselves. That is pretty much the effort here thus far. Tonight we get fed at friends’ house so no cookin’. YAY! Though, I do have a chicken cookin’ away in the slow cooker to well, cook and make some broth. I’m makin’ chicken ‘n dresin’ for lunch (down south that’s actually dinner) tomorrow. I have cornbread made already, so tomorrow mornin’ or tonight I’ll make up the dressin’ and then cook it tomorrow. Gotta come up with some veggies to go along with it. Maybe some field peas and okra since I have the fresh frozen kind of 'em. Oh and of course, gotta make gravy. Hmmmmm… maybe steamed cabbage? I’ll figure it all out.

It’s been rainin’ here for two days. Right now it’s not rainin’ and the sun’s peekin’ out but that’ll end soon. More rain on the way for today, then a cool down. Only in the high 50s a couple of days next week. Another ice age movin’ in I tells ya!

Hope everyone’s havin’ a good Sattiday! It might be nappy time soon.

Later Y’all!

{{{**McUNE **and sis}}} How awful  :frowning:

Morning! Caffeinated, Cheerio-ed, and about to get off to see the lovely Veronica for an hour of [del]torture[/del] massage.

No matter what, the day goes downhill after that.

Would pictures of Cats-n-Racks make you feel better? Or the tale of Dachshund and Piglet?

While you’re all looking at this, I’m going to go find the kiddie fiddler and fiddle with a knife about his entrails. Note I am not wishing death, just maiming.

Almost time for lunch here. Meatballs are bubbling and the fries are baking. I always create such culinary masterpieces here in TVLand.

strange dreams this morning - My friend and I were in Vegas; at one point we looked at our watches and noticed they were running backwards. I thought it might be a problem with the batteries so we both opened the backs of the watches and all these little white foam pellets poured out. Then the batteries fell out, developed spider-like legs, and scampered off. There was more to the dream, but the rest was relatively ordinary.

This working on Saturday stuff is for the birds.

Got your back, bub.

HEAR HEAR!

If your up for Halo when your off work let me know. Hubby and I would like to play again.

Thanks all for the hugs, it means a lot to me…

Dammit, and now my secret diabolical plan has come undone as well.

What’s the point in being a mad-scientist when all your plans fizzle out?

Perhaps it’s time I hang up the labcoat and just accept that I am going to be an MMPer for life, and may probably never take over the world.

No really, last night I had a fun plan for an internet trainwreck. It spanned three message boards, and would have been very entertaining to watch indeed.

Thank you** SpazCat**, but I’m too depresed to molest cat pictures right now.

That came out wrong.

Now I have to take #1 son out to buy jeans. I am just home from a bridal shower. It was nice. I am in a funk and think it might be chemical. Or else terminal ennui has set in.

Nice day outside, though-warmish and sunny. There is that.

McUne–that is terrible. Why?

So sorry about your sister’s attacker, McUne. That’s truly awful.

Hope everyone else has survived the angries. (There seemed to be an epidemic upthread.) Sometimes the unfairnesses in life are overwhelming, aren’t they.

Glad you’re finally getting a day off, doggio. Every time I start to feel whiny about how much I’m working, I think of you and snap right out of it. (Well, maybe I don’t snap, but it certainly puts my job in perspective.)

Does it ruin things to tell you that I think your mad-scientist mode is cute, beebs? Sorry not really. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lookie, it’s LOUNE! Hi LOUNE! ::waves enthusiastically::

I did not sleep in. I was up late putting together a booklet for my volunteer group (it has all our annual events in it). Then I had to get up early to go to Kinko’s to do the copying and cutting. I’ve got it down to a science, so making 50 copies only took about an hour. Then we had our meeting and then I came home and even though I should be really tired, I’m apparently filled with adrenaline and am having a cleaning frenzy. Guess I should take advantage of it while it lasts. Should be crashing in a couple of hours, I presume.

Hugs to all who need them (that seems to be almost everyone at the moment…).

Bah. Persepolis is not playing anywhere near me. Dammit.
I may go see Juno instead (talk about clash of cultures). I really wanted to see Persepolis.

Off to shop for jeans.

So, picture me in bed, trying to nap unsuccessfully. Why? I’m thinking of a yummy chocolate filled drumstick only a mere two floors below me. Normally, I don’t go down to the basement. I have a hard time with steps and especially old creaky, uneven ones. But I decided that the thought of a drumstick was enough to make me brave the unknown. Much to my dismay all the drumsticks were gone!!!  :frowning: About 3 weeks ago I had bought the industrial sized box with something like 20 in it and I’ve only eaten about 3 in all that time. Instead I had to settle for about 1/4 cup of chocolate peanut butter ice cream since it was almost all gone too.

He’s napping now and I’m plotting my revenge…

Back from photo and running about. Kid got her boarding pass (#59 of 60 in the A group) and just finished punching out some teeth stuff for a lesson on teeth she’s teaching next week. While we were out and about, we stopped in the local Teacher Supply Store, and she looked around for a while.

Got a load of laundry in the washer. Gonna discuss the wedding menu with the kid. And that pretty much sums up the rest of the day. Yep. Fun.

{{{{**McUne ** & Sis}}}}

Tar-jay entrance fee was $31 today. I did pick out a couple of lamps for my bedroom that I will get next week when I get my annual bonus check.

Got all the fixins for burgers for tonight, I have cleaned both bathrooms and wiped my kitchen down and changed the kitty litter tray. So far so productive.

Off to unpack gorceries and eat lunch then start the prep for tonight!

Yay, Papa Tigs’ free money from the VA started arriving, and this was the back pay for several months’ worth so it’s a lovely check! Yay for free money!

And yay for no more long distance relationship, mmms! Papa Tigs and I met when I was living in California and he was living in Japan. Yeah, that was fun. Except not.

I’m feeling utterly drained today. Thus far I’ve done practically zero work, in spite of trying. I decided I need some comfort food, so a lasagna is currently in the oven. I shall pig out on lasagna, and then see if I can manage to stay awake. Oh, and I should steam the last of the fresh asparagus, too. And then I have GOT to get some work done.

I’m feeling like I should engrave that and hang it over my desk. Of course, this weekend I don’t get any weekend at all, which makes me extra grumpier. :frowning:

And what’s even more annoying, I had all these great plans for things I was going to get done while Papa Tigs was out of town and not underfoot to interfere with my schedule – some work around the house, cleaning my office, organizing all my yarn. Right now I’ll be lucky to manage to run the dishwasher once while he’s gone, at the rate the work is piled up. :frowning: Money is nice, but so is a bit of time to relax now and then, dammit!
