How to throw a party! - A 12-step MMP

Ha! I’m not just imagining it.

This winter is suckier than most

I don’t know if you recall, but at the end of the basement opposite my studio, there is a big storage closet and a fireplace. That end of the basement will become a bedroom and sitting room for the kids. ManLand will shrink a bit, but **FCD ** is convinced he’ll still have plenty of room to work. What he really wants is a separate building, and while I’d love to do that, too, we don’t have a spare $20K under the sofa cushions, so a workshop won’t be happening this year.

My studio and the laundry room won’t change at all, other than the kids will take over the bathroom part of the laundry room. They will come upstairs to shower and eat, and socialize, we hope. But the rooms in the basement will be their private haven. Very private - no windows down there. I’d hate it, but they don’t think it’ll be a problem. And just outside the bathroom/laundry room, we’re going to put in a small counter with a sink, and under-counter fridge, and a microwave on a shelf, plus a couple of cabinets. That’ll give them a place to have snacks and/or a coffee pot. So it’ll almost be like a real apartment. Sorta. Mostly just their own place to hide.

Sorry for the heart attack. We ended up breakfasting at Friendly’s, which was OK. We figured the Double T Diner would be way crowded by the time we got up that way. So we chowed down, then took the kid to BWI and we just got home. I’ve got a couple of afghans in the wash - they were starting to smell of the critters who sleep on them when we’re not home. Other than that, I really don’t have any plans for the rest of the day.

In 5 weeks, I’ll be headed to Orlando for the first (and biggest) load of stuff that I have to bring back. Four weeks later, we return for the wedding. Time is just screaming by. Dang. No wonder I’m exhausted!

Seriously, it’s ridiculous. I usually don’t mind winter that much, but I’ve never been so ready for spring to come as I have been this year. Ugh.

Oh god, the backs of my hands are hurting. Now I’m gonna have saline flashbacks to when I was getting IVs for my ITP.

At least Complicated Roommate let me have a swig of his codeine cough syrup. WOWCrack Roommate’s holed up with his kids in his room, I hope they dodge this bullet. This flu sucks.

Hmm, I suspect that a PM was appreciated, but I may go into the ignore category. Dang it, lost another one.

beebs, your posts confuse me. You don’t need to explain or anything, I’m just sayin’

I’m smarfaling a nannerbot.

What’s not to understand?

I have the tiniest headache this morning. Got to be at 1AM after kicking everyone out at midnight. Food was delish and everyone had a good time. An entire bottle of good tequila was consumed - not by me I will add - and everyone appeared to have a good time.

I am currently watching Kinight Rider that I DVR’d last night but I am going to run to the grocery store and grab some junk food to watch TV with. I think a lazy day is in order. I really must get going on on my own wedding plans - I will start on a guest list this afternoon after a nap I think. We already have the location and menu picked out but I need to order invititations, cake, band, cars, photographer, hire guys suits, bridesmaid dresses…oh and buy my dress!

Back from the grocery store with the most nutritionally devoid bag of groceries I have ever seen. Given that I normally eat a ton of fruit I bought chips, chocolate & chocolate muffins. I was embarrassed. :o

But I am settled in for the afternoon with only one load of laundry to do!

Well, of course! It’s so obvious now that you’ve explained it…

My baby is safely back in Orlando. Thus endeth our weekend.

gt, I’m up for tomorrow. I need to finish writing it, though.

I had tofu spring rolls for lunch. They had a yummy chili peanut dipping sauce.

That’s about it, a nice quiet weekend. I still haven’t made that hot cocoa, though. That would be perfect.

Hot cocoa sounds nice, I think I’ll have some.

Gonna read my book group book (The Moonstone for those who are wondering) and relax and then get back to clean up and organization (an unending effort).

Hi Haze!

Look at this new sexy guy that I found!!!

Wow. It’s like a whole new TVMan. I can’t stop looking at him…

Feel better Spaz. However, if you must die, move over to the chaise lounge and drape yourself into a stunning pose. One can kick the bucket with style you know.

CutiePie what dramatic changes hath TVMan wrought that you cannot take your eyes off of him?

I made a good Sunday dinner today folks. We ate at one this afternoon and still I have no thoughts of wantin’ supper. It was nummy!

One of my church members, someone I am very fond of, is starting hospice care. :frowning: I had a feeling this was coming soon, but still, it’s kinda sad. Hospice is a wonderful thing though. I know they’ll make her as comfortable as possible over the next few months.

Oh and I had a nap.

That’s about the size of things from da cave today.

I am eating chocolate chip muffins for dinner. With a glass of skim milk so it’s all balanced and low fat/ low calorie.

The link! Click on the link above. (Or this one.) Compared to this.

I just had the most delicious, yummy no-work supper – chicken gorgonzola from Trader Joe’s, lovely chicken breasts and veggies and a fantabulous sauce, served over rice. Yum yum yum! And best of all? It’s a two-person dish, so I can have it again tomorrow! Yum yum yum! For someone who doesn’t cook unless as a last resort, it really doesn’t get better than this!

I see! TVMan hath shorn his locks. He is indeed worthy of prolonged staring then.

Wow! That’s a radical transformation!

Taking a break from the book for a moment.

Back later…

**CutiePie ** - he looks lots younger with the excess hair removed!

I just finished packing breakfasts and lunches for tomorrow, loading the dishwasher, and emptying the dryer. Taz has been curled on the end of the couch since he ate around 4 - guess that means he’ll be up all night running amok.

I’ve got a full, regular week ahead with one late meeting (starting at 3 - I normally leave at 2) to break the monotony. And I’ve got a very big, short-term project that’ll keep me plenty busy. Such is my career excitement. On the other hand, I’m under 700 days till retirement.

Incidentally, for you cheezburger lovers, how about ahotdog??
