Back from the Y. I did about twelve minutes on some sort of machine that has arm handle thingies and big pedals. I put the resistance on 9 out of 10.
After that, I did 25 laps around the track. Six laps equals a mile. Granted, not all of it was running. Most of it was done at a very fast walk, but I did manage to jog about eight laps. Unfortunately, those laps weren’t consecutive, but I’ll get there.
Ok, so I’m late…err early. At least I made it. What do you mean the food is all gone? Yes, I brought a bag of ice.

Howdy all. At work and in pretendy-worky mode. Why should I make a big effort and seek out work when I will be leaving in less than 2 months and will derive no benefit (read: bonus or pay-rise) from any hard slog I put in. This is why I don’t necessarily understand the 3 month notice period! Oh well … carry on!

This morning did not get off to a good start though. I came in to find an email from one of the Profs in the dental school berating me for taking two weeks to get a meeting organised. I emailed him back to explain that I’d been asked to do the job on 7th Feb and had emailed the attendees that day. He was on a trip to Oman and unavailable until the 15th Feb to give me any dates, then got in touch to say that he only had two dates free (both in the first week of March).
The other people have very busy diaries and I’ve had to ask people to move things in their own schedules to accommodate the only time that he’s free. Then yesterday I was asked to invite yet another body to the meeting. So there!
He rang and apologised. And I didn’t even have to wear those boots.
Oh, we’re here, but we do our job best when we’re not noticed.

I haven’t seen this in awhile, maybe they upgrated filters, but the overnight shift used to have a ball with spam posts. Basically a spam bot would post an odd post advertising male erectile dysfunction or whatever. And it was a pile-on after that because you could post ANYTHING knowing that it would be deleted, so it didn’t count. So myself and the other night-owls would just go nuts on that thread for the sake of saying shit we shouldn’t say.
These threads would be a ball until they were deleted. Oh the fun we have at night.
So the next time I see one of those threads, I can go ahead and post this?

Haze, I’m glad I don’t get to see that commercial. I’m one of those weirdos who play “roleplay” servers in WoSW, not because we “roleplay” (at least the way most so-called “roleplayers” mean it, which seems to amount to “make a night elf chick and dance naked on top of a table”), but because those servers have less L33t-speak. I’m still trying to figure out how did my circle of friends there end up including a guy called Leetor… oh, yeah! It’s because sometimes we have great fun poking him about the stupid name.

Don’t get me started on cellphones – as a result of all kinds of weird upgrade mechanisms by our provider, plus the fact that my wife and I both have phones from work, our household is now the proud owner or holder of… ::counting on fingers:: 9!!! cellphones. :rolleyes:
At least I’m not paying monthly charges or insurance for almost any of them…
I like my phone to be friendly in terms of Send/End/Text and phone book, have a nice color screen (but not necessarily one of the recent monstrosities), and some kind of minimal surfing ability.
Oh, and it should fold and fit in my pants pocket!
Ringtones… meh. I need one for my wife’s phone (a “danger signal” if you will :D) and that’s about it.
