How to throw a party! - A 12-step MMP

She can have mine then. I have the opposite problem.

Coming tomorrow. Today is 14-hour day and it’ll give me a chance to wash some of the leftover dye out. I rinse until the water runs clear, but there’s always excess dye in my hair until the second wash. I think it’s the shampoo.

I opened my bedroom window yesterday and turned off the heat. This was a good idea at the time. This morning it’s 35 degrees 'Merican and I was very comfy under my covers. I like spring, but I don’t like the fact that I can’t snuggle under the covers until noon on a day like this.

Entertain yourselves with this advice-mocking post I made yesterday . The last letter ticked me right off, it did.

Mornin’, mumpers!

I’ve caffeinated and caffeinated, and I can’t seem to wake up! I’m here at work at least, but the DonWannas are here with me, too.

The highlight of my day might be going to the dentist. At least I’ll get off work early!

Later, gators…

I’m up, and will be heading to work here soon.

I wasn’t supposed to work today until 5-10 p.m. , which would have been perfect since I worked last night until 10 p.m., but instead I was asked to come in and work 8-1. A wonky shift, because I have to go and open up the lab at 8, then head to the complete otherside of the campus to TA a class that starts at 8:30. Another TA is coming in to be in the lab starting at 9 a.m.

I was supposed to go to the dentist this morning, but had to cancel since I now work. The next available appointment was in April, so I took it.

Anyway enough complaining, I need to go get dressed in work appropriate clothes.

I have a strong suspicion I may have inherited that gene. Think we could, dunnow, trade a couple pints?

I saw the post to tdn about whether or not (s)he quit smoking. I was wondering about you, Swampy. I remember you quit for Lent last year - were you successful?

The shrubbery around the SwampCave has probably recoverd by now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mornin’, y’all.

Fire School was fun, but no stories worth telling. I pulled enough hose in 2 days that Swampy would have a month’s worth of <snerk>s, though. This coming weekend is the last one for the season, Emergency Vehicle Operation. Driving school for sigh-reeeens…

I did have one interesting rescue call Sunday afternoon. Mom was throwing her slacker 19 year old son out of the house, and it turned into a classic John Wayne barfight. Mom and her boyfriend have minor injuries; son was wanted and on the run for battery, and is the subject of a restraining order.

Interesting pratfall: boyfriend and son went out the front door of the house, through the railing on the porch, and down 5 feet to the ground.

  :frowning:

Taters, SCL, and everyone else having a rough time, please check in. How’s it going?

I find it interesting that everyone has been too polite to point out that Haze’s 12-step plan to hosting has 13 steps! :smack:

(and two step 5’s and no step 6, but that’s nitpicking at straws already… :p)

Mornin’ all. Awake and at work here.

Is it time to go back to sleep yet? I don’t usually caffinate, but I might have to today. Ah well, we’ll see how it goes. :: yawn ::

Hey, you try posting a last-minute MMP and see how accurate you end up being!

Cloud Maiden’s coming back today! Only temporarily, I think, although she was rather vague about the whole thing, as is her wont. Still I’m glad - I’ve missed her and the craziness that was our life together.

Sheesh. Nobody or should I say *no one * even missed me.

Also, you are ALL committing a cardinal sin. When throwing a fabulous party, you must book a fabulous caterer.

Well, I finally called and made an appointment with my doctor this morning. It just seems wrong to be exercising regularly, lose 15 lbs, and feel 5 times crappier than before! They can’t see me until thursday.

That’s all. Carry on like I wasn’t here… (Just as you were already doing.)

At work and don’t wanna be.

I’ve got to teach all day and then chair what will be a very contentious meeting with faculty and the President. Oh joy, oh bliss.

And I still feel exhausted and bleah. And my hubby and kids are at home hanging out. Probably still asleep or in jammies.

I need to win lotto!

OK. No more complaining. This will be a “look on the brightside” remainder of the day. Really. I mean it.

He

Nice guy too.

Rock Boston a bit, will yah?

Only if we could do so through Star Trek technology. I’ve been stuck with so many needles I sprout leaks when I drink enough water.

Pie will you cater my next low-key orgy? And whatever happened to cookie-dough-leaving-out person? I missed that update.

Y’know, I was seriously considering checking in on you if you hadn’t posted by 9 AM – which is like 1 minute after you posted!

**Haze **-- no slight intended, just thought a baker’s dozen was somehow appropriate for a feeding-related list

**Ivory **-- yeesh… But why is everybody else in bed, yet? Another day of vacation!?

Near Haiku

But not close enough

Just almost

Beebs I think you started something with the haiku last week…

THEY HAVE THE WHOLE WEEK OFF!!! (Sorry was I yelling?)

I have to teach T/TH so hubby is covering. He got Monday off. He’s taking Wednesday off becasue we need to take my son in for an evaluation. So he decided to take Friday off too.

I’m glad you’re here to cheer me up…

Wunnerful! I’m finishing up undergrad and hopefully going to pharmacy school starting this fall. I have an interview next week. (and I’m working >40 hrs/wk in an understaffed pharmacy in the middle of flu season here). You guys are just up tooo early for me on a Monday morning, and I hate playing catch-up. I hope your shrubs are OK. I used to feed them table scraps, and I hope they didn’t get used to it.

Also, catering? Real people get caterers? I only ever see them in sitcoms! I don’t even know how to get a caterer! (“caterer” has too many “ererererers” in it.)

I know for certain that I’ve inherited that gene. Can we all say warfarin for the rest of your life? :frowning:
Speaking of which, I should stop at the hospital for a pro-time today. I’m on my way out to vote, anyway, so I’ll swing around that way after.
