How to unlink Outlook email accounts?

I’m really sorry to ask this question here but I’ve spent quite some time trying to google an answer and getting increasingly frustrated.

I have an Outlook account (previously Hotmail) which has two seperate email addresses linked to the same account/inbox (I’m sorry I don’t know the correct terminology), eg: AtomicAlex@hotmail.com and AtomicAlexFormal@Outlook.com.

I want to seperate these out again into two seperate email addresses with no direct connection to each other? How do I do that?

I’m using Windows 10 if that matters.

Thanks in advance

i think they are one and the same … and to support my allegation:
" new users can only create @outlook.com addresses, even though both email addresses use the same email service. So as of right now, Outlook.com is the official name of Microsoft’s email service, which was formerly known as Hotmail and Windows Live Hotmail "

If nothing else, you could set up a filter and have everything addressed to the Hotmail account (for example) simply divert to a separate folder of it’s own instead of the Inbox. That would keep everything separate at your end.
