How will the Tea Party spin the CT shooting?

Next thing is that you will retrocon “teabagging” into a word they didn’t use first.

How will the Tea Party spin the CT shooting?

In case you aren’t following the Westboro Baptist Church’s Twitter feed:

The hashtag #PicketFunerals was confirmed in a follow-on tweet from church member Shirley Phelps-Roper:

The hacker collective Anonymous has responded by publishing private information on church members including email, home addresses, and phone numbers (don’t think I should link it here; google if you like).

Yep.

Really, what’s WBC got to do with the Tea Party or anything else?

They used to call themselves teabaggers, i dunno in what context they would use teabagging.

What difference does it make how the Tea Party spins this? Seriously, I don’t get it…who cares at this point what they think or how they spin this? What seems to be important is how the Liberals and Democrats are spinning this, since they seem to be getting the most traction. This is probably the biggest opportunity that the anti-gun crowd has had in years, maybe a decade, and they are spinning it for all it’s worth and trying to get as much mileage out of it as they can.

Who said that they care how they will spin it? This is teh srs message board? If the OP had put this in IMHO or MPSIMS it would most likely be moved to Elections anyway.

Could conceivably refer to any Tea-Party-related activity, e.g., “Let’s all go to Washington on Memorial Day for some teabagging.”

The TEA Party spin will be that liberal gun control policies and cultural rot caused the CT massacre or at least worsened the body count. They will, or likely have already, support the idea that more guns and more Jesus are needed in schools.

The proud stalwarts of the Tea Party
Have lusts that are hearty but naughty
Such as offering their sacks
As mid-morning snacks
To all and to sundry! How haughty!

Read this with Rick Perry still on my mind from BridgetBurke’s post and thought, “How’s Perry going to accomplish that?” Good thing for Snyder this bill didn’t arrive on his desk the day before the tragedy. 'Cause he probably would’ve signed it.

That statement is quite true, especially for teachers plural.

I am having a great time nailing people who say that by asking them a simple question: oh, so the kids should have been praying to the same god that sent the shooter to their school in the first place. How does that possibly make sense?

I then watch their facial expressions resemble that of a guppy.

Easy. Extortion. Pray or else.

“Nice school you lowly mortals have here. Be a shame if something happened to it…perhaps you could use some ‘protection,’ heh heh heh…”

God’s a publicity whore, and insists on public adoration.

Or so the heads of all His fan clubs tell us . . . One is tempted to suspect their lack of bias or vested interest in the question . . .

Amazing how these guys give killers no credit. Unless the armed guard was going to spend his whole shift crouching behind protection, the first thing that would happen is that he’d get a bullet in the head, and then the killer would enter.
I agree that your average teacher / administrator is not going to handle a crisis all that well. Does he/she want to get away from the kids to attack the intruder, leaving them unprotected, and stay and attract fire, some of which could hit them?
Plus, these people must never have heard of the term arms race. Shooters would buy protective gear, and that would make it harder for the cops to take them out. This guy shot himself as soon as he heard the cops coming - if he had thought he might stand them off he might have killed even more kids.

You “teabagged” your congressman by sending him a teabag, letting him know you were as mad as hell and you weren’t going to take it anymore. That was “teabagging” and they called themselves “teabaggers.” It was a laff riot all across the intertubes. I think a lot of them still don’t understand why it’s so funny.

And how are we going to pay for the initial and continuing training needed to turn hundreds of thousands of teachers into combat-ready soldiers? Many of these people have never even seen a gun except in a cop’s holster.

ETA: Statements like yours are glossy and glib and take nothing of reality into account. Please think through a process before you support it.

The Neanderthals are coming out of the woodwork: http://www.newnownext.com/mike-huckabee-sandy-hook-shooting-newtown-blames-gays-god/12/2012/

(with my apologies to Neanderthals, who really don’t deserved to be grouped with such idiotic homo sapiens)

The right has come out officially and stated that they will fight any attempt to change restrictions on firearm or ammunition sales, which means it will be gridlock once again on yet another issue. In other words, business as usual for the fucks on the right.
