What’s a mountain meal?
Need a picture of the puppy to verify this story. Can’t be too careful. Lots of Fake News about puppies on the internet these days.

Mountain meal is something I grew up eating. I think it came from my grandma, but I doubt it’s too terribly original.
It’s filling the bottom of your plate with mashed potatoes, then adding a layer of ground beef, then topping it with a spoonful of corn. When made correctly, it makes a mountain.
I also agree about the Dane puppy. We need proof.

Upside-down shepherd’s pie!
Great news! It’s not the third Tuesday of the month. I get to just go home and watched Chopped.
Sounds fantastic. Is there any gravy/sauce on the ground beef?
What a gorgeous puppy! Um… and still growing?
Oh, yes. By the minute. He’s 9-1/2 months, meaning he has a year of growth left. (It does slow after about 12-14 months, but males in particular just keep putting on bulk for as long as another year.)
He’s being a real sweetheart today, doing his best to make it a nice Valen-tines day despite it being just the two of us rattling around the house. He even let me win at dodo-bird tug-of-war.
Aqua fit after work, jaccuzi after exercise, and then to the grocery store for raspberries and blackberries to make tomorrow’s kale and berry smoothie. Home to make myself dinner and maybe open some 2 buck chuck. Your standard Tuesday/Thursday.
Oh, and maybe some TV on the “I Killed My Husband with an Axe and Buried Him Under the Porch” channel (Discovery ID).
Nope! Everything is just as it is. Although I’ll usually add some butter and salt. Ms. Cups will throw on black pepper.
Although now that you mention it, I can see someone jazzing it up with some gravy…
Well, jumping on a plane in a couple of hours to head to Denver for the week. Have left on the lovely Mrs. Algher’s pillow a card and some chocolates. She might get some better sleep without my snoring!
My carryon bag has grocery store valentines (the Avengers!) that I will be giving to the flight crew working the leg, and later to my work compatriots who are also missing the day to be in training starting Wednesday.
Oh, is it Valentine’s Day? Huh.
We’ll do what we do every Tuesday night. Hand out free shoes to homeless children in Somalia, rescue and then feed a group of refugees in the South China Sea, perform a free Shakespeare Sonnet reading in the park downtown, then go home for some awesome anal sex. My wife loves anal sex! I’m married! To a very good looking HUMAN! WHO LIKES SEX!!!111!11!!!
That’s so sweet of you!
I bet that’s going to mean a lot to them, good job!
<Searching my brain for a way to respond to this…>
Hopefully going to bed early. I haven’t been feeling well, just a cold but it’s really got me wiped out. I came home from work and sent the 15 year old to bed. She says her head’s killing her and she is congested. My husband found out today he didn’t get a promotion he was hoping for at work. Dinner is just going to be grilled cheese. I will be very happy to see the end of Valentines Day.
ThelmaLou, good luck I hope your test goes ok.
Awww… bummer. But I’m glad you all have each other.
Thanks, me, too.
Yep, hope everything comes out all right. ![]()
My class was canceled due to the prof being sick so I’m FREE! I had lunch with my mom valentine so I’ll make dinner for the mister valentine. It will be something simple involving pulled chicken.
My best wishes to all dealing with kidneys, bowel prep (been there) and other health issues.
My husband is out of the country on business, but he did post a picture of some heart-shaped doughnuts on Facebook for me.
I don’t like doughnuts.
Things are moving along well.
I didn’t do anything especially Valentiny today except for buy a marked-down, big heart-shaped box full of dark chocolates when I was picking up a prescription on the way home. I don’t usually buy marked-down chocolates until the 15th or 16th, but there they were.
