I’ve seen my permanent record so the lack of invitations is unsurprising, but how does someone more deserving get the nod?
I know some people that I’d like to nominate for the gig, but I like them too much to do that to them. 
People could volunteer by sending Ed Zotti a PM stating they’re interested/willing to be a mod.
In some cases other mods nominate or feel out users to see if they’re interested.
Jenny used to take applications and if interested have you filled out a questionnaire.
IIRC I actually volunteered twice, once long ago in maybe 2007 or 2008. I was asked once when my message board activity was very low for a while. Call it 2014 or 2015 and I wasn’t interested at that point but I then threw my hat in the ring 2019.
They are some good candidates that either don’t have the time or don’t want to take on the headache of being a mod. I know at least 3.

I know one who has been approached but declined. Unfortunately, I don’t have either the time or temperament for the job. I appreciate those who do.
