I despise Ronald Reagan, but I’d accept putting Ronald Reagan on a denomination of US paper money if Bill Clinton would also be on a denomination.
So, a ten dollar bill with Ronald Reagan? A 20 dollar bill with Bill Clinton?

Well, I don’t really want either on money, but I really don’t think we should put anyone who isn’t already dead, which rules out Bill Clinton.
I would understand if Regan got on the money. He is deeply loved by many conservatives.
Has any living President(or high official) been on American paper money or coins while still alive?
IMHO, not enough time has passed for either to warrant being on currency.
Again, IMHO: let history decide if the honor is deserved…50 years minimum after death date.
That’s pretty much my attitude.
As for Reagan being on the currency, that would be an incentive for me to avoid using cash. Ugh.
Yeah, 50 years after death would be good. Also, let’s get rid of Jackson. What’s he doing on the 20 anyway?
Us Libruls got FDR and JFK on coins, so they can have their Reagan.
Although I wouldn’t mind if we didn’t have Presidents’ faces on coins. I’m uncomfortable with hero worship.
In both cases I wouldn’t want to touch the money. And even Reagan said, though granted this was years ago, that not enough time had passed for such a thing to be considered. His term ended almost 20 years ago and I still think that’s true; Clinton’s ended less than eight years ago.
Agreed. As the years go on I get more and more annoyed that every public structure gets named after one dead politician or another. I don’t know if it’s always been that way or if it’s increasing, but I don’t like it at all.
Pretty much as I feel about Millard Fillmore and James K. Polk on U.S. Currency.
Just don’t get rid of Hamilton. He’s my secret crush… When I want to have celebrity fantasies, I pull a $10 out of my wallet…
It is much too soon for both. I am not sure why Clinton would ever go on the currency. At least with Reagan the argument could be made that he ended the Cold War. (I realize this is open to much debate, but at least the argument could be made.)
I don’t think any living President should be on are bills. Besides it ruins the phrase “Dead Presidents.”
All the same, lets wait at least a few more decades before we do anything rash.
I would love to see Theodore Roosevelt replace Andrew Jackson. This is a long oversight of one of our greatest Presidents and one that should not be honored on a bill still being there.
I do note that despite my objection in 1929 the following was done:
The $500 bill featured a portrait of William McKinley
The $1,000 bill featured a portrait of Grover Cleveland
The $5,000 bill featured a portrait of James Madison
The $10,000 bill featured a portrait of Salmon P. Chase
The $100,000 bill featured a portrait of Woodrow Wilson
It was way to soon for Wilson in 1929, but he led the US through the Great War at least.
**The Lower Denoms: **
$1 George Washington
$2 Thomas Jefferson
$5 Abraham Lincoln
$10 Alexander Hamilton
$20 Andrew Jackson
$50 Ulysses S. Grant
$100 Benjamin Franklin
Reagan already has an airport, which should be sufficient.
As for Clinton, nix on the U.S. currency (even 50 years posthumous), but maybe a stamp would be fine. In France, that is; they loved him, didn’t they? Then Clinton will be forever associated with French letters.
[d&r]
A Clinton 20 would be absolutely perfect for shoving down a stripper’s G-string or paying a whore for a handjob.
ETA: the Reagan 10? Coke straw.
Ha!
Those would be really cheap tips/handjobs, though, factoring 50+ years’ worth of inflation. Those girls would have to be real skanks, trailer trash…
Oh, I get it. Perfecto-mundo!
It’s too soon. And I’m not sure Clinton warrants it, anyway. But we need to take time to figure it out.
Too soon–let them be dead presidents for a while. Also, not eager to see any existing president removed from his bill–although I suppose I’m not that attached to Jackson (or Hamilton).
After that, well, Reagan’s a maybe, and Clinton’s “a what in the world did he do to deserve it” choice.
Reagan yes, Clinton no way in hell.
Reagan already has a major airport named after him as does George Bush 1. They sell Clinton currency at the gas station I most often go t… It is for “Sex Dollars” and looks pretty genuine. Reagan would kill Clinton in such a contest.
Hey, hey, hey… are you implying that Polk is in the same league as Fillmore, i.e., a forgettable and largely unremarkable presidency?
Polk is a distant cousin of mine, so I may have a bias here…but I’d like to point out that JKP has been ranked as high as the 8th most effective US President ever, whereas Fillmore’s highest ranking is 24th (and most polls place him in the mid-30s).
Notably, Polk increased the territorial size of the US by 810,000 square miles (although from a Native American or Mexican perspective, not all that land was acquired in the most ethical fashion).
Anyway, feel free to dis Fillmore, but stop the hatin’ on the Polkster.
As for Reagan and Clinton, I don’t think either of them really deserve to be on currency, but, on the other hand, I wouldn’t really care much if they did. I’m not a big fan of Hamilton or Jackson, but I can handle a $10 or $20 bill without feeling any resentment.
Indifferent. Put George W. Bush, Allah, or Rainbow Brite on all denominations for all I care. As long as it’s accepted as legal tender, that’s all I really care about.
Why not swap Jefferson with Jackson? What is Thomas fucking Jefferson doing on a novelty bill? Put him on the 20, and relegate Jackson to the $2!
Or let’s put some women on our currency-(dollar coins don’t count, people.)
