How would you react to this statement?

My first thought would be that she’s probably quoting a book or TV show or something. So I’d ask her if that’s the case. If so, my attraction to her would probably either grow or remain constant, depending on the source. For example, if she was quoting a Halloween episode of The Simpsons that I’d somehow missed, I would fall in love with her.

If she wasn’t quoting anything, I’d try playing along and seeing if I could scope out what she meant by the line. Was she implying that she actually comes from a different universe from our own, or was she merely referring to my personal perception of the universe? Was she was joking or being serious? I’d try asking her something like “did you have a destination in mind, or are you just trying to stir shit up in there?” If, over the course of the conversation, it becomes clear that she was joking all along, I’d probably grow attracted to her quirky, deadpan sense of humour, especially if she was trying to pass herself off as an alien from another universe.

If it turns out she was being serious, I would investigate the “rock your world” possibility. If so, I’m not quite sure what I’d think. On the one hand, she said it in a very unusual way. Either she’s not a native English speaker, or she simply has an unusual manner of expressing herself; both of these possibilities would make her intriguing. On the other hand, that expression, no matter how it’s said, is a bit too clichéd for my liking.

If she isn’t trying to rock my world, and there appear to be no other rational explanations for the line, I’d have to conclude that she’s mentally ill. Unfortunately, that would probably also increase my attraction to her.

So overall, a mostly positive reaction from me. Looks like I’ll be joining the minority here.

I think if someone said that to me I’d have to take a step back and reexamine where I want the relationship to end up, because it would seem that all they want to do is move into my life, cause some upheaval and move on. Not quite what I’m looking for at the moment.

I’d laugh my arse off. Then ask them if they were serious. When they told me they were I’d laugh some more.

While running very very far away.

Nah, it’s fine. It does confirm what I figured. I was more concerned that it wouldn’t strike people as being over the top. Islene has issues, that’s for sure. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d say “Shit. Anybody with 5 bucks and a little time to kill can do that.”

Well, first off…being named Islene.
