Howard Hughes/THE AVIATOR Questions

I just saw the movie for the second time, and picked up on a few things. First, the number 12…did it have some special significance for Hughes? While screening HELLS ANGELS, Hughes orders 12 chocolate chip cookies. later, in his favorite Hollywood hangout, Hughes orders his usual dinner (a rare steak plus 12 peas). He winds up leaving because Errol Flynn eats off his plate. Is this true? Why was Hughes fixated with 12?
next, Hughes slowly starts going nuts…and winds up walking around nakes, and peeing in milk bottles…what was this all about?
Finally, his obsession with the Spruce Goose-he knew the plane was obsolete…but having proven that it could fly, why did he keep it in a hanger?
Lastly, his XF-11 prototype-by 1946 bthis plane was also obsolete-why did he keep dumping money into it?
Great movie…you have to see it a few times to catch all the details!
