How's This For A MMP?

Yay!!!

Painted most of the porch railing this afternoon and then had dinner with brother and niece.

Am relaxing on the couch, thinking about what to do next. Possibly continued Firefly festival and knitting.

Thanks for the additional birthday wishes!

Hugs.

Yep. When I first looked at the group wall, I thought people were posting answers to the quiz I had just taken (blatant cheating because snow caused us to miss our lecture so we all took the quiz at different times - during our labs) until I realized they were the questions that the students had submitted. Some of them had been reworded by the professor but others were on the quiz exactly as they had been submitted.

A friend of mine has been fostering a bug (Boston/Pug) and apparently she’s meeting her new family this weekend - and they live 5 hours away. For a minute I thought that maybe you were the new owner until I realized that Maryland is way more than 5 hours away.
Seriously, where are the pictures?

Here she is! Nameless for now - I will pass any suggestions to FCD.

She’s got a bit of a 'tude - she’s been growling and barking at Taz, and he’s tried to hit her in the head. I see fun times ahead. She’s 10 weeks old, one of 4, and supposedly cuddlier than her remaining sister (the others have been rehomed.)

And on that note, I’m going to sign off and get back to my knitting. We’ll see how long before FCD’s dog becomes my dog. Did I mention that Scruffy was his dog? And Taz was his cat? Yeah, funny how that works out…

Wow. So, that bug I told you about? Here’s her picture. Creepy.
She’s adorable.

Bug? Seriously? I guess that’s better than puggle, tho…

OK, for reals, I’m logging off and heading for my knit position. Nighty-nights!!

Congrats on your latest child MOOOOOOM! She’s so keeeeeyooooote!!!

{{{Nuts}}} so sorry about mousie.

Yay on unfubar 'puter stuffs roo!

Home from the big doin’s. I looked at OYKW at around eight and said, let’s go. He readily agreed. Da bear is tahrd! ‘Twas fun though. Lots of good food. Lots of good beer (ok, not too much beer, I was good), lots of laughter. Lots of whoopin’ and hollerin’ as the mortgage was burned, even if only symbolically. It was a copy of the letter that states the mortgage is paid in full. Everyone seemed to have a good time sippin’ hot chawklit and makin’ s’mores. One of the great things about my church is the fact that there are those of us who do all the prep stuff, settin’ up stuff and cookin’ stuff. Then there are those who do all the clean up and put up stuff afterwards. We work good together like that.

And on that note da bear is takin’ himself to beddy bye cause, again, I’s tahrd!

Nitey Nite Y’all!

How about “Pugsley”?

Mooommm**** She is just darling. You’re gonna have so much fun with her.

This was a very weird day.
First my LL has been complaining of irritation and burning when she urinates and not been able to sleep very well the past 3 days, so I tried bringing her the the pediatrician to get her checked out today and they turned me away because “we don’t take walk-ins”. I was upset and told them so short of yelling at them. I am now planning on switching pediatricians. I have never been turned away from a child’s doctor just because I didn’t have an appointment. They squeeze you in. They don’t turn you away.

So we tried going to the Take Care Clinic in Walgreens and they no longer see children under the age of six (which is new to me, they saw them for their flu shots and when they both had strep throat a few months ago)

So then we go over the an urgent care clinic, which is basically a glorified triage with one doctor for the whole clinic. We started in the waiting room at 10:30 and left the clinic at 2:45. Yep, over 4 hours. In total I ran around looking for someone to see my child for 5 hours. There has got to be a better way. She turned out to have a simple yeast infection but it was a b i t c h trying to get her taken care of. The staff at the clinic were great however, and dealt with my anxiety and tears from having to run around and being frustrated that I couldn’t get my baby taken care of quickly.

Afterwards, we finally got to meet up with my mom and brother who came down for the day to spend with the twins for their brithday. We didn’t have time to go to the zoo like we had originally planned so we ended up going to this animatronic dinosaur exhibit at the convention center downtown. It was ok, but over priced for what it was. We took the twins for frozen custard afterwards and then they are spending the night with grandma and their uncle at the hotel. So for the first time in years my husband and I have the night alone together.

Guess what we are going to do
NOTHING! I have to write an essay due next week and he has to study for finals. So much for alone time :frowning:

Irked. Crazy lady complained because my cashier said her total louder than the other people’s totals.:dubious: Chatted with Hockey Lady:).

{{{{Apes}}}}

Cute dog, FCM. I suggest naming her Attila.

Yay for a clear Intarweb tube, Spaz!

{{{{Nut}}}}

Hey Buttercup!

You have to check out the new Bailey’s Hazelnut.

It’s awesome!!!

We must have pictures.

Cute baby!

Don’t worry about sibling scuffles as everyone gets acquainted, as long as no blood is shed.

This made me laugh aloud! Alas, tho, we can’t because that was our “pet” name for our psycho ex-sister-in-law. And rosie, your suggestion isn’t nearly unique enough to pass the **FCD **test. After all, we didn’t call our dalmatian Spot, we called her Pixel!

Ziva is *not *at all happy with the new roomie. She hid in the bedroom most of the evening, and when I went back to sleep, she was all lovey-dovey, purring and rubbing up against me - she even came to me after I as in bed, and she almost never does that!!

Tomorrow, she meets Cozmo, who we’ve been referring to as her nephew! Daughter wants to name her Wanda, since Wanda is the wife of Cozmo in the cartoon that inspired her dog’s name. **FCD **isn’t all that keen on that name. So the quest continues…

I’m up way too early since someone got up to take the puppy out at 5, then brought said puppy to bed and left all the lights on in the living room and out front. OK, and I wanted to check the status of my kiln (done firing, cooling down) so here I am. Which is fine - I slept in yesterday, and if I did it again today, it would start to mess up my internal clock. Instead, I’ll have quiet computer time.

Off to read the funnies! Happy Sunday, and Happy Veterans’ Day!

Pugzilla!
Blurf. I am so tired today. After yesterday’s show I went to the Y. I tried out an elliptical machine because they’re supposed to be low impact, but I could only stand about 5 minutes before it felt like it was tearing up my knees. I ended up just walking around the track instead. Then I came home and started my next homework project.

Right now I either have allergies to dogs that need to be groomed or I’m getting a cold. I sincerely hope it’s the dogs. I guess I’ll know a little better when I leave the house today for day two of the show.

FCM, the lady next to me does very nice pottery. I’ve purchased stuff from her in past years. She makes these cute little egg separators (except the faces are much more interesting than the one in this picture. So cute! Maybe you could make one of a penguin with a Santa hat and send it to flytrap. (Or maybe a yarmulke instead!) :D:p

Yanno, I have to wonder if those egg separators work for anyone. I was given one as a gift and I tried it. Frankly, it’s just as easy to juggle the yolk from shell half to shell half, plus nothing to wash afterwards.

Ziva is gingerly inspecting the puppy’s crate. She is such a wussy cat - guess she gets by on her looks.

I’s hongree. I may go poke **FCD **with a pointy stick and make him take me to breakfast. Or I suppose I could just make myself something…

Yes, I can’t think of a reason to actually use an egg separator, I just think they’re cute.

PUGSLEY. You have to name him Pugsley

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 47 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 77. I live in the land of extreme temps but 30 degrees???

Butters! Come back and tell all!

MOOOOOOM since new baby is a girl, maybe Wednesday as she’s Pugsley’s sister. Pugs are in the category of “you’re so ugly you’re cute.” I vote for poke FCD and make him take you to brekkie.

I agree about aig separators. One of the most useless kitchen gadgets ever.

{{{Apes}}} glad LL got diagnosed and it’s not too bad. Still, I’d boycott that pediatrician and tell everybody I know about what happened. That just makes me !

We have been invitated to N.O.L. by MOG after deheathenization. She’s takin’ us to the good seafood place even. YUM!!! After that I will need to head back to the church house to get my outdoor cooker. Didn’t feel like foolin’ with it last night and don’t want it sittin’ on the back of twuck whilst in a restaurant. That’s kinda like puttin’ a sign on it that says, “Steal Me My Owner Is An Idiot!” Plus I will no doubt need to clean the pot and the basket and better to do it in a deep commercial sink that here at da cave.

I have tomorrow off so natch I will spend part of it at a funeral. Someone who used to attend St. Pat’s died. He and his wife left the church because they moved away due to irk but he always said he wanted to be buried from St. Pat’s. I have no idea who it is, but someone is needed to do ush duties and such and since I’m available I told YP I’d be there and attempt to find somebody else to draft as another ush if needed. I should earn some points somewhere for that, should I not?

Ok, I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. At some point purtification for deheathenization must also commence. I has ush duty today. Rah.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

ETA: Happy Veteran’s Day to all the Mumper Veterans!
