How's This For A MMP?

Whew, so glad that is all over, at least for four years! I was getting agida too, Rosie and Soapy. NM went solidly for the President, and Maryland, where I lived for so very many years, voted in favor of same sex marriage! Now if only the Senate and House would actually work together and make compromises where they should!! That is the bigger problem.

In other news, I’m making some baked beans in the crock pot on Wednesday.

I am agida-free this morning.
and flytrap - I am definitely part of the “innie-outie” crowd as Cousin refers to us

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up caffienated and at irk. 'Tis currently 45 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of only 61. Feels nice out though. I met OYKW for brekkie at the Booger King because we are high class gourmets.

Shortdrum!!! Come back and tell all!

A[sup]2[/sup] I was wonderin’ the same thing about those young folk ‘til Jose filled me in. See, I was down to the store the other day to discuss new slipcovers for my sofa (Jose showed me this real purty pink and orange paisley print and I just fell in love with it!) and I asked Jose how come it takes so long to do all that movie inventory and how concerned I was that those younguns might be takin’ advantage. He assured me they are not. In fact, he says, frequently Big Leather Bubba or him and sometimes both of ‘em together spend lots of time makin’ sure things are done right. Well, I reckon then they must have a lot of movies back there. Maybe some of ‘em are helpin’ out with the decoratin’ inventory too. Anywho, Jose put my mind right to ease. He’s such a good boy!

Since we’re on the subject, I prefer outies.

Ok, reckon I need to at least commence to think about maybe gettin’ busy with irkstuff. Ick!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Honestly, rosie, I had no idea what you meant until I read what swampy preferred.

Remind me to quit eating any food that is designed to give you extra fiber. I tried a different granola bar today and it, too, makes my stomach feel ick after eating it. Nonetheless I’ll be heading to water aerobics in a little while and then hopefully off to get my special effects exhaust system fixed after that.

Judging by the results of the Ballot Initiatives in WA and CO, shouldn’t that be “Happy hemp day”?

I don’t want to make you all jealous, but I get to vote twice next week! We have a by-election for the local council because our councillor died recently, and we have to vote for crime commissioners (I think that’s a great job title). I got my postal ballot papers for both of them yesterday and in the absence of any sensible information, I need to scour the interntoobz for some background on the candidates so I can make an informed decision.

The local council one is easy, we have four candidates and only one of them lives in my postcode area. I reckon you can’t represent my interests if you live way over the other side of town, so if you’re not in WV6, you’re out!

The crime commissioner one is bit more tricky, we get to vote for two people so you get a first and second choice, but several of them are career politicians so they aren’t getting my vote 'cos I don’t trust 'em. That leaves with a choice of very few so some research there is needed.

Filbert, I still think you should have gone to the interview in your dressing gown, you’d be better dressed than a lot of the clientele…

Good morning. Looks like I’m being sent to the Philly area next week. I’m marginally ticked - **FCD **put me on a “little” design project that’s turning into a major pain in the ass, largely because of the political games involved. It’s got something to do with relationships among the customer, the prime contractor, and us as a subcontractor. It’s somewhat ugly and very unprofessional - honestly, when **FCD **was trying to explain it to me, it sounded like bratty kids on a playground. Idiotic.

It’s raining here, and they say we might see snowflakes by the end of the day. I’m glad our stove install was scheduled for yesterday instead of today. And the stove is great - I’m very pleased so far!

I’m also pleased that the election is over. I’m somewhat surprised that the gay marriage law passed in MD, and somewhat disappointed that the casino measure also passed. I think this country is in need of serious campaign reform, including making superPACs go away - all of their ads left me feeling dirty and disgusted!

Happy Wednesday! Send chocolate!!!

I just accidentally turned on the wrong burner on the stove, which happened to have a glass dish with cinnamon rolls on it. When I realized what I had done it was too late. I went to move the dish and the whole thing exploded and shot glass shrapnel all over the kitchen. I am the worst homemaker ever.

No, Apes, not the worst, just one of the crowd. Have you boiled a pot of veggies dry, totally ruining the pot? Have you put pans in the oven without turning it on? Or left things in there way too long? How about forgetting a load of wet laundry in the washer, then having to re-wash it because it got all stinky?

Welcome to life - we’re all there with you.

all of the above, except it is usually hard boiled eggs I ruin :frowning:

Well that was called incorrectly. Prop 30 passed; it was doubtful it would have because of the way it was worded. It was taxing with the word ‘schools’ thrown in there to make people happy, but in reality the state can waive that and use it for whatever they want.

So…higher taxes but probably still screwed regarding schools. We’ll see if they get anything out of it, or how much.

Otherwise <yawn> Happy Wednesday!!

Reminiscent of the saying “‘Criminal Lawyer’ is a redundancy”

Oh and I get to vote on January 22, for Knesset (read: Parliament). BIIIIG election!

Check

Check

Check :o

Double Check :smack:

Yup…

I watched election coverage for about 5 minutes last night, then turned off the TV, sat outside next to a roaring antique wood stove and sipped on a really nice and neat Colorado whiskey for a coupla hours. Was it wrong that I could wait until morning to learn who won?

Yeah, I thought so.

I didn’t find out who won until 2 hours ago. I have so much more personal things to worry about than which dick won POTUS.

I’d say you had your priorities right.

I’m listening to a couple of coworkers talking about the election results - they’re so stupid! Rather than look up who got what votes, they’re just speculating. Why let facts get in the way of a good conversation??

Who knew I worked with idiots…

Well, this is the 'Dope.

lieu all I can say is wish I had been there with ya. As for moi, I took some nighttime knockout sinus stuff and went to bed at eight last night. I even pulled an all nighter… didn’t wake up and have to go pee even once!

Apes not so much the worst homemaker ever as the same amount of sometimes bad homemaker all of us are. You are one amongst many.

When I hard boil aigs, I let the water come to a boil, gently lower the aigs into the water, turn off the heat and let ‘em sit about fifteen minutes. Wunnerful hard boiled aigs every time! Y’all know that funky little utensil called a pasta spoon? Perfect for gently lowerin’ uncooked aigs into boilin’ water.

[need to vent] I am disappointed in my Conservative facebook friends - some of whom I’ve known IRL for decades - they are posting “Shame on you for gloating” comments all over my “Hooray for Democrats (and Ppppbbbbth for Republican)” posts - like they wouldn’t have flooded facebook with the opposite had the election gone the other way. I never once commented on their pro-Romney posts what a bad decision that was. I let them have their say. One even said she doesn’t feel respected by me because of my choice of posts this morning. Am I wrong or are they being sore losers?[/ntv]

This is all have to to say about the elections:
Sore losers and sore winners both suck. Watch what you say so you don’t suck.
