HP Deskjet 682C - All of a Sudden No Power

So my printer was working perfectly when I left to go home last Friday and today I come back and the thing won’t turn on. The printer is plugged into a surge protector so I dont think that’s the case. Other than that the transformer seems to be buzzing like normal and according to my neighbors multi-meter its outputing the correct voltage. I don’t get it. The printer wasnt touched all weekend and today I’ve got nothing. Anyone have this problem or think they have any idea on whats going on here?? If you have any questions feel free to ask, I’ll do my best to answer. Thanks in advance!

If the printer is not powering up and the PS is outputting correctly it is highly unlikely there is a fix you are going to be implement by yourself and servicing an older printer like this makes no practical sense. Electronic devices die all the time just from small component failure.

Dump it and replace with new. If you must have the same printer there are (in my area at least) always a healthy supply of vintage 600 series printers at the local Goodwill and Salvation Army.

Thanks astro! I kind of figured that it was something I couldn’t fix but I just thought maybe there was a fuse or something. Thanks for the suggestions too. There is a Goodwill store right down the road, I’ll check there, thanks!

While astro is probably right, before dumping the printer, try plugging it directly into a wall socket. I’ve seen power strips on which only 3 out of 4 sockets were working correctly, for example. After all, checking this doesn’t require any fancy meters or technical skill - it’s just a 15-second fiddle!

Yeah, try some other outlets.

try techbargains.com or spoofee.com for printer deals, there are a few. Cheap printers on ebay.com too, if you want to reuse your carts.
