HTML disability

I note the board OP’s are informing us HTML is now disabled.

Wondering what effect this would have on previous posts that made use of it, I looked at a few I used it in.

No change at all.

Apparently the board can read the code in previous posts but does not allow it in new ones.

Question is, how does the board allow the old tags while refusing to read new ones?

Is HTML truly “disabled” or is some other mechanism in place?

I think the diligent denizens of “About This Message Board” will do a better job on this one than li’l ol’ us, so I’m going to send it over there.
