http request too long?

I’m use Mozilla 1.2.1 on Mac OS X 10.2 as my primary browser. I tend to never quit applications, and the OS hardly ever goes down. But if Mozilla’s been running for several days, when trying to access the SMDB, I get a 500 server error:

Quitting and restarting Mozilla allows me to get back on the boards. I have not had the same problem with Safari, but I still prefer Mozilla as a browser…

Is this a known bug ^H^H^Hissue? Is there a solution/ workaround? Should I use different browser? Install a packet sniffer and gather more data?

Supposing it were a bug in our software, we would have to wait until the software vendor fixed it anyway.
