I thought it was when Vince Foster was found floating in the Whitewater River.
Nah, that was Hillary’s doin’. Foster, being gay, rejected her advances so she had him killed.
If the Clintons had him killed , they would have hired folks who would do a better job disposing of the body.
Chucklebee’s gonna skip the Iowa straw poll. I don’t understand this move, Iowa is one place where he might do well. Incompetence or just proof that he’s just “running” to raise his profile and inflate his speaking fees and book deals?
The Iowa straw poll results mostly reflect a campaign’s willingness to pay to people to participate in it. Maybe he’s short on money.
(Or maybe, after Michelle Bachmann’s win last time around, he figures nobody could ever take the results seriously again.)
I thought the Republicans had decided not to do a straw poll in Iowa? Or is it just not this year’s straw poll?
According to the Wikipedia article on the straw poll, the only change for 2015 is that the Republican Party put the host city up for bid, so this year it will be held in Boone instead of Ames.
The fact that he still has a political career after arranging parole for a rapist-murderer who then proceeded to rape and kill again and also for a felon who then proceeded to kill four cops may have given him a feeling of invulnerability in that regard.
Paging Willie Horton . . .
Yeah, probably, if Huckster ever rises to the level of a serious threat to one of the other candidates, which makes it all the more puzzling that he’d bother to run (he already had the wingnut-welfare media gig, so it’s not a matter of auditioning for that).
Huckabee stinks at fundraising relatively speaking. He knows that he has no chance but he wants to be a part of the debates and keep himself in the spotlight. He is too extreme even for the GOP primary aside from a handful of states.
I wonder how this will impact Huckabee’s candidacy:
as the article queries, Maybe this is why Huckabee was so quick to jump in and defend Josh Duggar. Maybe Huckabee knew that Jim Bob and Michelle had sent Josh to their mutual buddy and mentor Bill Gothard, therefore everything is All Better Now. So what if Gothard may have sexually abused or harassed 30 girls?"
Even among evangelicals, this can’t be good, can it? It certainly isn’t among the rest of us.
More fun with Huckabee. Here he mocks transgendered people.
The conservative former Arkansas governor said he wished someone told him “he could have felt like a woman” in high school, so that Huckabee could shower with the girls.
In the phrase “playing to his base” he makes sure it is fully vested in both meanings of “base”.
Not only is he mocking transgendered people, he’s also intimating that he thinks it’s acceptable to deceive a women if it means seeing them naked. It’s like he’s admitting that sexual assault is something he thinks is kinda cool.
Yes, well, lying is the main requirement for any pastor. You get used to it to where it’s not a sin anymore. Lie to get in the shower with girls, if you’re caught, tell them it was for Jesus. Prayer Camp awaits!
This is why I still say, no preacher or pastor should be allowed to vote. Pray for it at home, at your church, or maybe in the high-school shower with the girls.
Looks like Trumpism has spread to Mike Huckabee.
Way to take the high road, Mike. One of the tenets of right wing Republican orthodoxy is that Israel can do no wrong. A corollary is that no Muslim nation can ever be trusted and that war is the only option available in dealing with them. A man who professes to follow the Prince of Peace rejects dialogue and negotiations with some nations based on their religion. Is he trying to fight Trump for the angry white vote? Is he merely concerned about the Jews because he thinks they have to be in Israel for The Rapture to occur, at which point they’ll be sent to hell for being unbelievers? Who knows? He just knows that Obama is feckless, and so it follows that Huckabee claims to have a lot of feck.
On his twitter account, Huckabee is defending his remarks, in part, by posting quotes by the Ayatollah Khamenei. Didn’t that guy die awhile back? Why is anything Khamenei once said relevant today?
The destruction of Israel is still Iranian policy. Huck’s statement is hyperbolic because of the balance of power in the region, not because Iran doesn’t want to kill all the Jews.
The leaders know better. They know they couldn’t eliminate Israel even if they wanted to, but they also know that the masses in the street want to hear that kind of talk. So the leaders talk tough to placate the angry masses and externalize their anger. Sort of like what Trump and Huckabee are doing.
THeir leaders are religious fundies. They believe what they are saying.
