Huh. [RNC spent $2,000 in Hollywood S&M Strip Club]

Three airports serve NYC: they are JFK, La Guardia and Newark (in NJ). Continental has a direct flight from Hawaii to Newark. There are regular and convenient shuttles between Newark Airport (EWR) and Manhattan.

All that said, I find it plausible that Steele would want to opt for a layover in LA, so as to drop by the local RNC office. After all, the Young Eagles were their most successful group (until this week) and they had an event planned. All this is speculative of course and there’s no evidence that Steele frequented Voyeur. Still, I don’t think it unreasonable to ask for his itinerary.

In other news, RNC Mailer Typo Directs Recipients To Phone-Sex Line. They printed “1-800” when they meant “1-202”. Could have happened to anyone. Link to steamy .wmv

Some recall that Pete Sessions (R-TX) held a fundraiser at a Burlesque Club: does this imply that the Family Research Council will oppose donations to the Republican Congressional Committee as well? If not, why not? So far the FRC has no comment.

Background on conservative website that broke this story. The Daily Caller wants a) to be the conservative Talking Points Memo and b) demonstrate that modern conservatives can do more than just spout opinions: they can be good reporters as well. Those are their goals anyway.

As long as I don’t touch the performers, I’m entitled to reach. Woot! Frankly, I’m having a lot of fun speculating on the naughty habits of the RNC, the hypocritical pervs.Since the Republicans have been busy maligning Democrats lately, I think that fools like Steele and completely scummy bags of shit like Ensign should be humiliated as much as possible.

All this time, we haven’t heard Michael Steele’s side of the story - until today, when he was interviewed on Good Morning America. Anyway, he’s straightening out that problem with unapproved expenses at bondage-themed nightclubs. The youthful staff member requesting funds has been fired and today her boss was shown the door. I approve, but I know that this will disappoint some of the conservatives on this board: after all, how can we expect Republican staff members to use google or yelp when faced with a line item like, “Voyeur West Hollywood”? That’s what reporters are for.

Good money after bad?
In other news Neil Alpert, recently hired as Steele’s “special assistant for finance”, seemed to have some difficulties when he chaired the DC Baseball PAC in 2005. Apparently his expense reports contained, “…Numerous inaccuracies and omissions.” Unauthorized personal expenses included gas, meals, cash, night club bills, rent and parking. Al Madison, formerly of the PAC, said, “The money slowly disappeared and we had no idea where it was going. And he was very very circumspect. You never got a straight answer from him.” Alpert was fined $4000 by the Office of Campaign Finance and ordered to reimburse the PAC for $69,568 of expenses. That reimbursement never materialized “because of a mediation agreement.”

Ahaha, I love this comment on the article:
