Huh. Wendy's overhauled their burgers. Opinions?

I would assume that’s what they are doing by moving to frozen meat, which is probably cheaper.

Except it isn’t frozen. Per their website, “100% North American, Fresh Never Frozen Beef.”

This thread is a jumble of confusion.

Why should this one be different than any other fast food opinion thread on the Dope?

I had one for the first time yesterday. The bun was gross. This is not Dave’s way, dammit.

Tried it today. Bun=improved. Mayo=sickening. Meat was much less salty: I think it’s back to the standards of the 1970s. Pickles were more noticeable, but I don’t think they were out of normal variability. And I hate red onions, even since I got a Checker (or was it a Rally?) burger with a spoiled slice. I’d say it’s no better than before, and the wait time is l-o-o-o-n-n-g.

I got mine. It was nothing special. The bread was soggy. Where they get “toasted” is beyond me. It was more like oversteamed. The top was actually wet. Other than that I didn’t notice much difference. I know the onion was different but I don’t eat raw onions anyway.

The meat tastes like the cheap pre-made patties I’ve bought at Aldi. It’s spiced, probably with MSG more than anything.

I was really happy with the fries though. I think they forgot to put any salt on them at all so it was just a pleasant roasted taste.
