Human bag of pig suet and sexual harassment Roger Ailes dead at 77.

I’ll speak for myself: I hate the man for being a total fucking pig to women. Cf. Kellie Boyle Claims Roger Ailes Sexually Harassed Her, And Retaliated | Fortune

“Roger Ailes, America’s beloved jolly grandpa who was always pulling beloved goofs on ladies and gals alike, had been murdered by the deep state at the age of 77.”

Priceless davidm.

And Clinton? The same?

I hope so, if you’re being legit.

Not to mention Joseph “Gal groper” Biden.

Decades of history have shown that PC offenses are only offenses if right-wingers commit 'em. Neither Ailes nor Trump has been accused of anything near as horrendous as what Bill Clinton has long been accused of, and with greater credibility. But crickets (or, more charitably and when called on it, lip service) are the usual result whenever someone brings up his behavior towards women. Ted Kennedy was no walk in the park when it came to chasing women against their will either. And can you even begin to imagine the outcry had Trump or any other conservative politician drowned a woman by driving off a bridge when leaving a party, swimming away and not reporting it till the next morning? And Joe Biden, and John Edwards, and Gary Hart. Every one of them and more has been guilty of behavior involving women that a conservative politician would have been excoriated for but the only condemnation to speak of comes from their opponents on the right.

Bill Cosby may come to the mind of some as a left-winger in trouble over his behavior toward women, but given his long-standing reputation for telling young black guys to pull up their pants, use proper English and stop fathering babies they have no intention of raising has elevated him to de facto conservative status. There is not a doubt in my mind that had he not spoken out as he has over the years none of the brouhaha surrounding him now would ever have seen the light of day.

Tim Allen better pray he’s never been alone with a woman at anytime during his adult life is all I’ve got to say.

Oh, if only!

Allen may have had a conservative TV show that (based on the clip my dad watched) had him repeat conservative talking points, but his original show, based on his standup, suggests that he respects women. He respected the hell out of Jill for being smarter than him. Sure, occasionally Jill also needed advice from Wilson, but it was mostly Tim who needed to figure out he was in the wrong.

And y’all know that ol’ Hewey is a troll, right?

What’s their legacy, though?

What’s Roger Ailes’s legacy? The birth of a right-wing propaganda channel that opened the door to the right-wing media and helped sow the incredible divisiveness and anti-intellectualism present in our country. He’d be a disgusting toad even if all he did was that. The fact he was also more than a little rapey (and by the way, how nice of you to call sexual harassment a “PC offense”, that’s wonderfully tasteful of you) matters a lot more for him because his main other achievements also involved making the world a significantly worse place.

Bill Clinton was a really good president and a successful politician. Ted Kennedy is damn near legendary for his work in the Senate. The reason they’re not remembered as “that rapist douchebag” is because they have more important parts of their legacy, things of true value that they brought to the table - and even then, it turns out that Bill Clinton’s legacy isn’t nearly as secure as you might think. Bill Cosby is a serial rapist whose legacy has essentially become “that extremely famous serial rapist”, but thanks for the pathetic attempt at a no-true-scotsman to paint him as “de facto conservative”, because it somewhat defeats your point. I suppose Anthony Wiener is also a de facto conservative?

And what the fuck is John Edwards doing on that list? He cheated on his wife. He didn’t abuse or rape anyone. Can we maybe not muddy the waters here with people whose wrongdoing is of an entirely different category? Or is that the whole purpose of the “PC offense” bullshit earlier, to try to conflate two entirely different kinds of offenses, in the hopes we wouldn’t notice? Yeah, republican “family values” types get a lot more shit for cheating, hiring prostitutes, being gay, etc. than democrats do. The reason why is right in the name - they’re the fucking “family values” guys! It means they’re not just cheaters, they’re huge hypocrites.

Is it fair that Joe Biden doesn’t get that much flack for his behavior, which borders on assault and sexual harassment (although if you’d like to compare that to people like Roger Ailes, you’re a fucking moron)? Probably not. But then again, it’s not fair that someone can publicly admit to sexual assault, have a dozen women come forward and claim that he assaulted them, and have their legacy defined first and foremost by their twitter feed. It’s not a partisan thing. It’s a rape culture thing.

Not sure why the sudden interest in Clinton and Biden, since neither one has died. In any case, you guys seem to have posted in the wrong thread. This one is about Roger Ailes. If you want to discuss Clinton’s or Biden’s pecadillos you might get more interest if you start your own threads. Just a thought.

Everyone else, DNFTT.

Sean “The American Bilge Pump of Horse, Cow and Bull Shit” Hannity states,

“On a personal note, were it not for Roger Ailes, I would not be the person I am today.”

Well that explains a lot. This jag-off would have dutifully sunk to his knees to give Joseph Goebbels a hummer back in the day.

I have to admit, this made me laugh more than anything else I’ve ever seen posted in the Pit.

He’s engaging a form of Step 1, B3 in the Republican Trolling Manual I posted in the Omnibus Troll thread;

b3; GISH GALLOP! My look at the time. Here’s a story about Bill Clinton, more on Hillary’s emails and look at these 17 articles on how Obama picked his nose! Basically, this is the go-to tactic for those just bright enough to realize that their original post revealed their true depths of stupid and hope to distract the conversation away from their failure. You shoot a bunch of bullshit into the other guy’s face and hope he’s more worried about the shit on his face than the fact that you’re a dumbass.
So rather than address the actual bullshit on his own side, he has to throw out Bill Clinton, Hillary, anything else he can think of. It is just a defense mechanism. I’m sure if he made some stupid assed conservative claim with no basis in reality and you were to point out the stupidity of it, our friend here would immediately bury the page in unrelated bullshit claims about Clinton and Obama.

I understand all that. I was being deliberately obtuse as my way of refusing to engage on their level. Doing this seems to often stymie these types as it’s unexpected and departs from their script. It’s a way of derailing their attempt to derail.

But you have to. It is your DUTY!!!11111. You said so yourself. If you do not then you are dishonoring and shaming all Liberals that have come before you and who will come after you. Don’t let them down Soldier. Lecture on!

It’s a bit early for the whiskey, don’t you think?

It’s never too early for trolling.

Yeah, no one cares about celebrities raping people unless they’re conservatives.

You do realize you’re an utter fucking moron, right?

I’ll be the bleeding heart. In fact, I am one of your more radical lefty, liberal, progressives you’re likely to meet. Here’s the thing … Roger Ailes was a horrible person, but he was still a person. No matter what kind of shitty stuff he did to people - and I’m convinced he did a lot and he deserved to be unhappy in life - he ain’t got life anymore. And I find celebrating anyone’s loss of life to be distasteful, to say the least. I didn’t even celebrate death when we snuffed bin Laden. Sure, I celebrated that justice was served and that a chapter to a nightmare was put to rest, but I didn’t celebrate death. I won’t do it.

Don’t get me wrong, I can laugh at the dark humor in things, ala the Onion’s mini-Hannities bursting from Ailes’s body, but you’ll never find me saying, “I’m glad that motherfucker’s dead,” about anyone. You’re more likely to get a, “I really don’t give a shit one way or another,” (just to seal my cynical cred), but you won’t get a whoopee out of me.

No, but I’m quite aware of your own moronity, as the claim you just made illustrates.

It’s hard to take allegations of rape seriously when the victims variously have lived with the rapist for months afterward, went to school on his dime, was bailed out of financial difficulty by him at various times over a twenty year period, spoke glowingly to friends over the years about having known him and their relationship with him, etc., etc., etc.

It’s also hard not regard people as morons when they claim that for Cosby to stand in front of a seated woman in a TV show green room constitutes sexual assault. Or that a woman was sexually assaulted after taking a shower in his hotel room and getting into bed and under the covers with him, only to have him use her hand to masturbate with, apparently against her will. Or waking up to find her pajamas in disarray. (What was she doing in his room in the middle of the night in her pajamas in the first place, discerning minds might ask.)

And it’s hard not to regard people as morons when they take Cosby’s statement that he verbally offered women drugs to enhance their sexual experience and turn it around to claim this is proof he gave women drugs against their knowledge and will.

It’s also evidence of moronity to still believe these nonsense stories of being drugged into unconsciousness and waking up the next day despite a thread on this very board showing that no drug was actually capable of that, especially in those days, that didn’t also carry a very large risk of killing the victim. One would think that given the hundreds of women Cosby is alleged to have drugged over the years, at least some of them would have died as a result of the encounter.

In short, most if not all of the allegations against Cosby are a money grab, sensationalized by left-wing media and glommed onto by outraged social justice warriors incensed by Cosby’s very common sensical pronouncements regarding the way many young black guys comport themselves. (Where else but in liberal bizzaro land would a person be excoriated for criticizing men for fathering babies they have no intention of raising?)

There may…may…be two or three women with legitimate claims against Cosby, but they remain unproven thus far. The rest is utter bullshit characterized by stories with holes you could drive a truck through.

As a sign of respect, skirts at Fox News will be lowered to half-mast.
