Hurrah for Iran?

Well, now we can see what happens when Muslim sensibilities rule a country:

They did kill the SOB, so props to them.

Fuckwit.

So, the good news is that I have disabled the “install on demand” part of IE so that what I am assuming is spyware from your link is not now residing on my hard drive. The popup did crash me though.

I second the fuckwit remark.

I couldn’t even get the link to open, and didn’t try again after I saw Binarydrone’s post. I can only assume (I know that’s a bad idea) what this thread is even about, but let me take a guess.

Someone, somewhere in Iran did something bad, probably horrible. It may or may not tie in with the Muslim religion, but it doesn’t really matter. You’re painting a whole country, neh, a whole religion with a single broad brush stroke!
Well done!

Jackass…

On Preview: I decided I had better read the link before I posted this.

What do you know, I was right!

I think the worrying quote in the article, and one which negates comparison with western serial killers is this one

Of course, the word militant is key here and generalising beyond them is a big mistake. Still, hero worship of a serial killer by a large group of people a great many of whom were surely not evil psycho’s like their mass murdering poster boy, shows how seriously they have warped the tenets of Islam to fit their ideology. That in itself is disturbing.

How is this any different than the anti-abortionists who blow up clinics, kill doctors, and get praised as heroes by the fundamentalists here? Shall we consider Operation Rescue indicative of mainstream Christian thought?

Yes, rjung, you’re correct. Sadly, Christian fundamentalists believe they are better than Muslim fundamentalists and Hindu fundamentalists because they’re Christian! Get it? Christian = better than not Christian.

Religious fundamentalists everywhere seem to take society down some pretty dark roads.

Gee, that there dead guy reminds me so much of a couple of other “religious leaders” (Falwell was it?) who “had improper relations” (adultery was it?) with women. The problem with that guy is that instead of having sex with the women and then going around telling everyone else not to do the same thing, he inserted killing the women into the equation.

I put Falwell’s name in there because I just can’t remember which of those blowhearted hypocrites 'twas who got caught.
